I’m a Dolphins fan as well and I’m fully on board with the tanking. A rebuild is much needed.

Dolphins fan here too. Purging the last coaching staff and roster at least gives us some kind of hope. I’m all in for Tua as well. I think he will be special. The difference between him compared to Fromm or Herbert is night and day.

You know, as a Dolphins fan for nearly a half century, I can tell you that mediocrity just poisons your soul. 20 years we’ve been mired in it.

Sometimes you just have to laugh at it — went to see them play the Rams at the Coliseum a couple years ago, guy in front of me had on a Jay Fiedler jersey, just celebrating the torchbearer of it, loved that! But mostly it just eats your soul.

I’m actually taking a perverse pleasure in seeing them tank this year. Hey, right or wrong, it’s their first freakin bold move in two decades! Maybe the overhaul will work. But I just can’t take many more 7-9 to 9-7 seasons that bring nothing but middling draft picks and propagate mediocrity.

Ah hell, yes I can. They’re still my team, the bastards. I don’t know how to change that.

Well said. Watching the mediocrity of the Vols and the Phins since the Mid 2000’s has been difficult. Hopefully brighter days ahead for both.

I'm sure there's a little wink wink going on down there also.
But either way, 17 years vs the few since he's been gone and the story of Pruitt getting Ga some of the stuff in his short time..
I like Richt as a person, just seems to be missing that killer instinct.
The seamless transition from Pruitt’s to Kirby’s defense helped a lot too.

totally agree.

Just found out I have to work tomorrow. Looks like I'll be watching the game from my desk...

Speaking of basketball, any way too early predictions?

I perused our schedule and lazily came up with a 17-15 record and NIT bid. I think we'll struggle mightily downlow and have a lot of variance due to relying on streaky shooting guards like Bowden and Turner and having a true freshman in JJ. Think we could've snuck our way into the tournament with the VT transfer Blackshear though. Will be a shaky rebuilding year before we utterly reload the next 2 years for deep runs.

We probably would have been a top 20 team with Blackshear. Don’t think we would have had to snuck into the tournament.

This is like the 2nd Saturday I've had to work all year, just stupid.
yeah, that sucks. i had one road block for tomorrow, and i already moved it.....just me and my youngest for the whole day......really hope we win, i'd like to be able to enjoy the rest of the day after that.....and i need her to find a reason to get in to football.

this last 10 years as made it hard to get the kids interested. and i've taken them to games, spring games etc.....but man, when we lose as much as we have, they're like "i'd rather do............................."

can't blame them, but tomorrow, i'm basically making her watch. lol.

It’s a really tough season to predict with so many unknowns. How good will Josiah be? How good will Plavsic be? Will he even be eligible? Olivier Robinson-Camois (sp?) has generated some positive buzz. What will we get from him? Will Turner’s shoulder allow him to be the shooter we know he can be? Last year we pretty much knew what we had. This year is just a guessing game, so I’m guessing we get positive answers on most of those questions, win about 19 games regular season, and are on the bubble going into the SEC tourney.

Saying that, you can parent how you want too idc. But, when they are under my care on the field let me do my job. Last week, we won 34-0. I still had parents yelling at there kids and grabbing them by the facemask. You know how hard it is to coach a game when parents come to the fence and yell at the kids and I have to stop trying to read what they are doing and separate them.
This is the first fall in 8 years I haven’t coached youth fb. That is the part I don’t miss. Dipshit parents ruining kids.
The hard part this year, is watching dipshit coaches!! Lol
My son balled in his game this week. He plays mlb and te, one of the assistant coaches told him last night he sucked, 3 times. Told he sucked in the game too. He had 6 solo tackles and 4-5 assists. Was lead block on 3 diff td runs taking out the de ans olb.
He was in such a high after his performance Wednesday, and came home completely deflated from practice last night!

LOL, life long Bengals fan.......I think I have a more severe case of mediocrity and patheticness.

Plus we had the added kick in the nuts when they lost in 2006 to the freaking steelers 1st round, who took out Palmer, and then went on to win it all that year....we might really have won it had Palmer not gotten hurt...so freaking terrible.

All for Tua? I have a sneaky feeling he just isn't tankworthy. If I'm the Dolphins I just invest in a 2 year tank and get Lawrence or Fields next draft.

No, not all for Tua. I’m not completely sold on him. The tanking is overall needed regardless if they find a QB this year or next in the draft. I’d gladly take 0-16 two years in a row if it meant getting impact players at other positions besides QB this year and then Lawrence next year.
