This morning, while having my morning coffee, I read through the Kaemen Marley thread, start to finish. I was out of pocket when he committed so I was just catching up.

What stood out to me in his recruiting thread, among a number of other highlights, was the attention and effort and the number of people involved on our side and his that went into getting his commitment NOW.

The holdup on his commitment appeared to be his not having previously visited campus so his high school coaches apparently bring him and a couple teammates to Knoxville for a technically “unguided” tour of the campus and to see as much as they can even though they can’t actually get into the facilities or meet in-person with any of our staff.

On Wednesday, the Vols got the final news on Kaemen Marley as he pulled the trigger. Marley came into town two weeks ago and toured campus with his coaches and a couple of teammates. He wasn’t able to go in buildings but Tennessee would drop pins in locations and they would go and FaceTime with members of the staff and academic side.

I just thought that was a really cool recruiting story and a revealing peek inside our staff’s commitment and creativity for winning on the recruiting trail. Kudos also to Kaemen’s high school coaches as well for their efforts and investments on behalf of their players. jmo.

Kaemen said he chose the Vols because on his "visit" it felt like home. I'm going to put this story near the top of my list of the top 10 ways to show love while living through a pandemic. jmo.

Major props to whoever thought of this idea and to Pruitt and Fulmer for helping facilitate it. We’re playing chess now.

I just hooked up my 360 last week to play it some, I enjoy just simming games and recruiting

I sim my games in dynasty mode on NCAA 14. If you play all the games, you’re just gonna win them. I like seeing my program develop with the guys I bring in through recruiting and running my offense and defense concepts. Feels more rewarding.

If I do play, I usually just run the flexbone because I enjoy that, or if its late season and a guy is in the Heisman race I will play to win it with him.

What settings do you play on? Once you get to Heisman it's not a "you're just gonna win them" situation, at least not until you've built the dynasty up.

I think the recruiting is my favorite part, but I for sure enjoy trying to break records and stat pad. Also it's pretty much impossible to win the Heisman as a kicker I found out :(

I wonder where Banks goes when he comes back. If Tim Jordan doesn’t return we’ll need a bigger back, but there’s a lack of depth/exp at LB too

Hodge, Whitehead are both bigger than Jordan and incoming. I think LB depth/experience is a bigger issue than RB room will be.

Gray, Ty, CFA on scholarship already with Hodge, Small, & Whitehead incoming. I think Jay's more than capable of turning out some production with the 5 or 6 guys that'll be in the room even if Jordan isn't.

How do you know his intent? He says that word and I have no problem with anyone assuming it was derogatory. There is no defense for the context unless he is testifying about something he heard or read and is required to give a direct quote. What other context or intent could he have? Nothing defensible, IMO. Everyone swears. I try not to take the Lord's name in vain. But, swearing is way different than all the horrible connotations that come with that terrible word.
Sorry. I worship God above All. So things that dishonor Him have "horrible connotations. As for the racial slur, would never use it and it has no place in society.

Have you ever considered the the commandment addresses hypocrisy and truly worshiping only one God instead of just saying something?
