I concur. I think Flowers would have blown up last year. And Tank is a beast.

Agree - Tank is the definition of a strong safety and Flowers a free safety. There is other talent back there as well with Pruitt/Ansley rotating guys around.

We did have bad safety play. We literally lost a game because of a missed play by Nigel Warrior while we were in Cover 6..... Warrior was terrible until the middle portion of the season.

Saturday I was hanging out with some friends and one brought his neighbor. The guy was a diehard Bama fan. Had a Bama hat on, but then surprise surprise he also had a classy Bama tattoo as well. He just kept repeating "roll tide"...so I was just being friendly and wanted to talk shop. Asked him what he thought of their QB situation and if the incoming 5* phenom would take over. He was like "uhh well I think he is a sophomore or a junior". Figured he was talking Jones, so I said "oh Mac Jones?" and he was like "oh yeah, that's the guy" smh. So I asked again about Bryce Young...he had zero idea who he was and hardly knew about Mac Jones either. More proof 90% of "Bama fans" outside of that state are just bandwagoners. Just like the Clemson fan here last year that was sad to see Lawrence leave after the 2019 season. I tried to tell him he had one more season, but he didn't buy it

Love this cat. Fitz raved about AJ. AJ will bring his own style and is a lil different than Fitz, AJ is more hands on and in your face and the guys see him as one of their own.

I'd guess the comment about our safety play comes from someone we played in the first half of the year. Maybe a Florida coach. Our safeties were awful until Georgia.

Which is the point. The current talent at the position has been in the system with Pruitt/Ansley. Warrior went through the Botch days and had to learn a new system. We are no longer talking about Warrior. We are talking about a full season of Flowers and Tank as a sophomore, not a freshman. Possibly other talented guys stepping in as well. Addition by subtraction plus another year of development.

When I go visit my folks in Winchester, it blows my mind how many Bama “fans” there are down there now. In the late 90’s early 2000’s, you wouldn’t be caught dead in those colors. I talked to some at a bar down there... Not one could name a single assistant coach or the coach before Saban. It’s honestly so lame that people just pick teams that are consistent winners. Proves you have zero loyalty or passion

I’m only 27. My pops is about 63 and we gotta cabin up on Keith Springs Mountain Rd in Belvidere. Did you go to Franklin county? Next time I’m in town let’s grab some Skip’s or John T’s and talk shop
