He's doing fine in the playoffs thus far. He is however, a bottom tier manager in the league and I'm thankful for the roster moves AA made to protect him from himself.

This... let's see what he's got when the Dodgers smack him in the mouth... hopefully the anti Snitker people (me included) will be eating crow, but I'm afraid he's about to get exposed

The Weinke/Friend Doctrine in full effect. If there are struggles? It’s because they’re historically incompetent. If they’re successful to impressive? Somebody else did it for them. 😉

I mean, based upon the past, I fully expect him to start Flowers over Travis in an elimination game. That's the kind of decisions he continually makes. Which is why I'm glad he doesn't have Luke Jackson or Ender Inciarte on this roster.

Ole Weinke is about to have another strike with TID. Don't say I didn't tell you so.

So if the Dodgers are better, it’s not because they’re more talented...it’s because of their manager?

Flowers and Duvall back to back... future 0-8 with 7 K's incoming

Based upon your version of “the past”, the Braves wouldn’t be playing in the postseason.

It's not like Georgia will fall out of the top 10 if we win
The AP poll always loves them some UGA.... heck, if we win they still might put them ahead of us...

I remember one year we beat them, and that gave us both one loss at that point in the season, and they were still ranked ahead of us

Not what I'm saying at all... similar to the Vols this weekend.. are we ready to play with the big boys? Better not get embarrassed. Braves/Snitker better not get swept

As a dodger fan, I hope you’re right. But our big guns are a little off right now. Yes, I know that sounds ridiculous with the runs we’ve scored the last couple days, but with Turner and Muncy (and to a lesser degree Bellinger) not quite themselves we just feel a little vulnerable.

Nah. Thankfully the braves have so much talent in Ozzie, Acuna, Freddie, Duvall, Ozuna, Dansby, and Travis that, even when Snit brings out Luke Jackson with runners on base, even though everyone else in America knows that is a horrible decision, that our offense can overcome. Again, thankfully Snit taught those guys how to hit home runs or our offense would be terrible.

Or what? You’ll withdraw your fanship? At the beginning of these playoffs, I was willing to concede that another weak one and out might bode badly for Snit. After sweeping two teams and going up against the arguably most talented remaining team in the National League CHAMPIONSHIP Series? He gets an extension...hefty one. Gets swept? Oh well. Way the dice flops.

Cuz no one can mess up talent? Check out the Phillies last 10 year run. Member when last year’s offseason had you pining for their organization and how “serious” they were about winning. Fired that manager. Why? He shouldn’t have been able to mess it up.

I don't know how you mess that lineup up. I stand by what I said in that I want our GM to have that desire for winning. Thankfully they know more than me and our young pitchers are seemingly really, really, good. But the Phillies struggles, for whatever reasons (I don't follow them), does not mean that I shouldn't want the Braves to have the best manager possible.

This year...

I just found out about my good friend and fishing buddy lost his battle with cancer yesterday. Loved his family, friends, and The Vols. One of the greatest people ever. He was a respiratory therapist at the hospital where I worked. We worked together in the ER for years. He pushed around his computer and cart with a bucket of candy. You see working in an ER can beat you up. You see tragedy non-stop. You get treated terrible. It makes you question life choices. Tim would see that in your face, walk over and put his arm around you and say “you know this is just temporary buddy”. He would then hand you piece of candy and say “I’m proud of you”. He would call me on Veterans Day just to say thanks. We fished together often. Really going to miss my friend.

He graduated from UT. Huge Vol fan. Had a million Alabama jokes.

He actually ran for governor once 😂.

Worked in medical tents on pit row at Daytona every year.

He had two degrees one in chemistry. He made the best “juice”. Couple of drinks and those Alabama jokes were hilarious.

Not asking for sympathy. I feel bad for the world losing a great kind soul. Asking everyone to raise a glass to Tim tonight. VOL FOR LIFE
🍻

They had talent. Braves had young players and virtual rookies. No comparison with the relative quality of pitching staffs. Philly was loaded. Braves won the division. One constant since Snitker was hired is IMPROVEMENT every season. We had the opposite with Fredi Gonzalez...so we should know the difference. AA’s seasoned enough to know that you don’t wantonly fire results for that unknown “better manager”. You make changes when it’s not working. Is that what you see in this team...not working?
