Yeah...I get the need to have a gamechanger QB. But I can't get anyone not seeing we either have or will soon have such. HB, Salter, Simpson is looking very likely. That gives us really good odds to find a gamechanger. And Manning is around the corner, hopefully. We probably do have an elite QB on campus, but covid killed his development in the offseason unfortunately.
Three star LB with P5 offers that the staff got as a PWO in ‘19.
I wish him well
Yes. Coaches make mistakes too. I bet Chaney would like to have that game back. It is getting to the point where continuing to play JG is meeting the definition of insanity. How do we know for sure the other QBs aren’t ready? Because the coaches tell AP that so we will back off? You never know until you play them. We had Dobbs as QB 4. Kamara was always a back up. Sims over Bray. List goes on. Some times coaches have to make a change and run with it. Even when we have switched QB’s they were only allowed one mistake and then they were pulled. JG fumbles three times and throws a terrible pick, yet he never gets pulled. Our coaches need to wake up and stop playing JG. He is not the answer to get where we want. I don’t care what the other QB’s look like in practice, we have to start playing them.A question for Pruitt- when is it acceptable to hold JG accountable?
I don’t care how good your OL is there will be times when the defense gets to the QB. At that point it’s on the QB to ensure, at the very least, that the football is protected. JG has shown consistently over 5 years that he can’t accomplish this.
Why is he still playing? If he’s playing because the other guys aren’t ready or aren’t good enough, why did you recruit them? Why aren’t you developing them?
No one is getting pulled for something that happens about one game a year and hardly their fault...seemingly always to UGA smh...had deja vu of Maurer's (well, OL's) backbreaking blindside scoop and score last year. Right as we got inside their RZ down 2 scores. That put it away.Any posts from @Atlanta VOL since the game? I’m curious to hear his take and if he has heard any rumblings of definite changes with the signal caller. And yes, I know most of his fumble issues were due to no protection, but he still absolutely has to protect the football better than that.
Don’t read between the lines but Bailey (lol) will have to beat out a much more mobile Salter. The game is going toward mobile QBs. Look at ole miss yesterday and even Bennett is more mobile than JG who looks like he is running in quick sand those first few steps trying to avoid pressureAP
Sounds like Bailey is going to get passed up when those guys get here.
UGA D line is one of the best. Defense is by far the best in the nation. We weren’t going to beat UGA but it sure as heck should have been a 10 point game without all the turnovers. Is there a chance that UGA's DL is just all-time good? I'm hoping that's the case. We need our OL to actually be a major strength and we just had the misfortune of running up against one of the best SEC DLs in recent memory. If our OL is severely overrated we may struggle to get to 5-5.
Not sure anyone is content. But when the defense gives up 17 pts a half, OL all around sucks, QB throws a bad pick, RBs can't break a single tackle, pass D is bad for the 3rd straight game...do you bench the entire team?Yes. Are we really content being in close games with teams we should beat and getting blown out by our main rivals? We are Tennessee and we are an elite program. It’s time that we up our expectations and stop making excuses.
We also need to remember that JP has only had 2.5 recruiting classes. That first class was a disaster after everything that happened. He didn’t walk into a 10 win program like Smart who even in his first class he had a top 5 class that Richt had recruited that he merely held on to. He’s added 4 more classes to that oneIf we finish the season as the 4th best team in the conference than we are absolutely moving in the right direction and are probably ahead of schedule.
People forget how recent 0-8 was.
We have had JG start since Pruitt got here. We have been blown out by every major rival since then. It’s been three years. I don’t need anymore time to see that JG can’t get it done against good teams. We can beat every team not named Bama, UF, or A&M with another QB. I want to see if we can actually beat one of those with another QB.Not sure anyone is content. As always I will repeat...let the season play out. One game overreactions are pointless. Judge the staff and team once the season ends and we have all the data points. Imagine this fanbase 2 games into last season Ready to burn the whole thing down. Let's chill and see what happens.
I don’t think the series is over yet, but I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I like Stoney lol@Bassmaster_Vol finished in the red clay. good recommendation

The game may be moving towards mobile and that’s fine. But let Salter beat our Bailey when he gets here. Right now, JG isn’t mobile at all. And there’s no way he’s a better passer or has better feel for the game than Bailey. Put Bailey in and you aren’t losing anything with mobility. Or Shrout either for that matter.Don’t read between the lines but Bailey (lol) will have to beat out a much more mobile Salter. The game is going toward mobile QBs.
