SIAP.....Been thinking about yesterday’s game and in spite of how terrible and undisciplined Tennessee played if they make two plays on D it’s a whole different game. If they catch the INT and recover the strip that UGA’s OL recovered we might be talking about a different game.

Tennessee still has to play better and would’ve struggled to win anyway, but they aren’t that far away even when playing terrible.

Yep. We aren’t as bad as we looked yesterday. JG and the OL won’t face a front like that again. And even so, without the shot of adrenaline they got from turnovers in our own territory, that game isn’t embarassing.

Wish I could blog posts with “JG” mentioned. Yeah he isn’t a heisman contender, but he was 11/13 in the first half. Our OL was dominated in the second half, everything else is incidental. It just doesn’t add anything to the conversation to bitch about how we don’t have a great qb

So we open as a 6.5 point favorite in the UK game. I’m saying we cover easily. They won’t be able to score on us, and our O-line will look more like it did against Mizzou than UGA.

What part do you disagree with? That we have 4 players who would start at GA? (Trey, Cade, Henry, and Bryce?) How can you expect to compete (which I feel that we did) when we're rebuilding one of the most pitiful rosters in the country?

That we competed at all. The O line got dominated all day, we never sustained a long drive. And our defense gave up 300 yards to UGA at the half thats not good. We were lucky to be up at the half because of a flukey bad snap. It wasn't close.

Somewhat in his defense he was playing some first round draft picks that double as mountains and played for the Monstars in the off season.

But yes, he’s gotta be better. If a QB can’t step up in the pocket to avoid the rush they’re screwed.

I was going to say it. Just last weeks pod cast they were praising the OL and how we’re 11 deep full of guys who can and should be playing. Now after that game AP wants to say there’s no development? Uh, okay

The thing with the OL is that despite lack of any significant practice over the offseason, they were able to get by against SC and Mizzou because those were undersized DLs for the most part, and the UT OL was able to win the majority of their individual battles because of size and talent. Against UGA's DL, which was big, fast, and talented, and the OL couldn't simply overpower in one on one battles, the lack of practice and cohesion was glaring. As I noted in an earlier post, the OL won't face that kind of talent again all season. They will face some decent DLs in UK, Bama, and aTm, who will certainly trust them, but no DL that should just overpower them. Only one of those teams has an explosive offense, which obviously is Bama, but UK and aTm each have their own QB issues, and both of those are home games. Other than those 3 we still have UF, Vandy, Arkansas, and Auburn. Of those 4, none of better than average defenses, at least at this point, and only UF has a great offense. Bama and UF wlll bre tough to beat, let's be real. I certainly am not oppsed to trotting another QB for those games, but I have serious doubts at this point whether we have another QB ready at this point to get into a shootout with either of them. But, with a running game we have at least a chance of reducing the amount of time those 2 offenses have the ball. aTm, like us, is someone of a question mark, because they have their own JG so they are never sure what they will get from week to week.

Ehh, Ive been called a dummy before, won't be the last time. This is all opinion, can't really be backed up by statistics. Don't mind people having a different opinion on JG. Calling someone a dummy because they have a different opinion says a lot about the poster. IMO.

After thinking a lot about yesterday's game... Maybe everyone that thinks Bama is the best defense in the SEC (or country) just might be in for a surprise. Maybe, just maybe, we faced the best defense in the country yesterday?!? Not saying our line played like we all hoped they would. They did for 1 half, but definitely not in the 2nd. JG takes some blame because he holds the ball WAY TO MUCH and has every year. Of Georgia's 3 games so far, JG does have the best stats and Georgia had already faced Franks and Nix (2 QBs that all sports writers (and most fans) would take ahead of JG). Just some random thoughts...
