We couldn't run because they loaded the box with blue chips to force JG into throwing. Yes, our OL got outmatched, but if we're going to make excuses for JG, I'm going to point out it was 7 against 5 for our OL. Our RBs can't even break tackles half the time so they sure as hell can't block. JG needs to learn when to secure the ball. It's not like this is a new thing for him. <cough> Bama Game <cough>
I said all week that is what Kirby would do...but Kennedy was getting absolutely mauled and that didn't help either, and other guys were making mistakes and missing blocks because if those freaky line shifts GA was doing...it all added up to a mess.

Why do it when you don't have to? You want a slasher flick I'm asking for a guaranteed money making marvel movie sequel
Paraphrasing Morgan Rhodes, there are no guarantees in life and that doubles up in football (despite Joe Namath’s existence). Because coaches who want to win play their best QBs in order to achieve that end. We may disagree with their assessment but theirs matter. If a coach plays the less ready player they deserve to be fired. Because they answer for losses. As much as you’re crying between puffs of your cigarette...Pruitt hates it more. He’s a football lifer and has never seen a German still life exposition.

Get the same level of play out of QB and OL finish probably 6-4.
Get improved play at QB (from JG or next man up) and OL lives up to its billing and finish 8-2 and maybe have a shot at Bama. Sorry, my level of pouting or celebrating only lasts 24 hours then on to the next one.
Use Kentucky as a get well game and move on to Bama.

We were just out coached . The entire Oline looked awful. We have a line full of 5 stars and a 5th year senior at C and we got owned in a half empty stadium . Had it not been for the gimme TD 1st quarter and a covid GameDay atmosphere, things would have been a lot worse.

My big takeaway from the game last night? Chop blocks should be treated the same as targeting calls.
Always hated them...especially when Bill Walsh’s Niners and Mike Shanahan’s Broncos were riding DL knees and ankles to championships.

Yeah because apparently a bump with the side of your helmet albeit stupid isn’t an egregious act
He was stupid for that and may still be an ejection under a Tiered system but there are too many that aren't bad or inadvertent that shouldn't be an ejection. I can see the argument both ways on yesterday's

Chaney was out coached the defense was dialed in and gassed in the second half. UGA has a ton of athletes but Chaney didn’t scheme for it or have any answers at all, he’s not good at adjustments. The more I think about this game the more I put it squarely on Chaney and his inability to adjust to the blitzes and get creative with the run game. Velus Jones may be our most explosive player and I think he got targeted once? Trevor Lawrence would have struggled yesterday in that offense. (Now could Chaney be sandbagging because of his trust in JG, maybe.)

Thing about yesterday's, you can argue it wasn't really hard or violent, but you can't argue it was unintentional. DJ clearly lowered his head. It was a bone-headed mistake that he should have known better than to make.

LA absolutely throttling Miami tonight. But serious kudos to Jimmy Butler. That dude is a monster. All of Miami looked gassed tonight especially JB

His job is to build a program, I hope he sees that this is a great opportunity to play for tomorrow as today is getting us nowhere fast.

Reason I can see it go both ways is exactly what you said. But my call for the Tiered targeting is more for the other ones we raise our hands. I also think the offense should have targeting. A RB lowering his crown to absorb or plow into a defender is just as dangerous.

I agree, I just think yesterday's call was a no-brainer as it was undoubtedly intentional. Clearest example for what you're talking about, at least the first that comes to mind, I believe it was last year's KY game, and Bituli went low to tray and stuff at the goal line because the KY player went low as well, and they called it targeting, even though, IMO, there was no other way to defend the play. I think in cases like that, there needs to be leeway. Players have to be able to counter an offensive players moves. But yeah, not all circumstances are the same. And there's a big difference between intentional and unintentional, IMO, and when it's unintentional, circumstances should matter.

Also, UGA's QB yesterday had a run that he ended by lowering his helmet.

Chaney could be sandbagging. Idk, this team offensively, since Pruitt has taken over, has had a really hard time picking up a blitz. Noticing and adjusting to a blitz pre snap at the line. We have new/ exp players on the line, we have a new OC, the only constant is JG and Friend as the position coach(idk how much that plays into it). In the end it could be UGA has much better players and made really good adjustments at halftime. Its unreal uga's 4th string qb is way better than our 1st, but maybe that's where we are as a team.

While we're still nitpicking yesterday's game, I didn't like the PI call on Tank. At least I think it was on McCullough. Looked to me like he was playing the ball and should have been a no-call.
That was a horsshyt call. He's entitled to the space and to play the ball like the WR is. Bad call.

The whole line chop blocked. They literally dialed up an illegal play and injured one of our players. Such a ****** program
Simmons was being a problem so they took him out. I was so pissed, and I wanted retaliation...I wish we would take their DLs out from now on when we play them....it was abundantly obvious it was on purpose...just like they did to Shy.

UGA is a dirty bastard program, and I want justice.

top to bottom, their players are all much better than ours.

JG has hit his ceiling, it is time to think about the future

I wonder about Friend a lot. Sometimes I think maybe JP should move him to an off-field position and hire a different OL coach. Not trying to shoulder him with all the blame, but I can't say I've been overly impressed with the OL as a unit since he's been here. We have some great individual players, but as far as performing as a unit, I expected more.
