I don't get all hate for Gary Danielson. I know he licks the sweat from UGA's and bama's , but its a nationally televised show and those are the best two teams in the SEC right now. Of course he's going to gush about them every chance he gets, its where his bread is buttered. In football respect is earned and with the exception of having a decent little win streak in the last half of the season last year against sub par teams, the Vols have been God awful in football for the last four years.

I like damn ok, but he is a wuss when it comes to the physicality of the game. And he says some really stupid stuff.

Back in 2015 during the UGA, Hurd had a long run where at the end he lowered his shoulder and trucked a UGA DB, Instead of commenting on Hurd's power, damn instead says that the NCAA really should consider looking at targeting penalties when an RB lowers his shoulder and hits a DB...of course, he nevee bothered to explain how a defender going in for the tackle would be considered 'defenseless' since he wasn't blindsided.

During the 2016 UF game in the 4th qtr, on a Hurd run that started about the UF 25 and ended up inside the UF 5, where a moving pile moved Hurd the last 4-5 yards damn said the NCAA really needed to address blowing the whistle dead rather than allow a moving pile.

I get that he is thinking about player safety, but if damn had his way players would wear bubble wrap and tackling would be disallowed as the game transitioned to flag football.

Also in that 2016 UF game when Rashon Gaulden goaded the UF WR into throwing a half azz punch at him and then flopped, damn freaks out and goes on this tangent about 'that is not a part of our game' as if that is the first time a DB has ever goaded a receiver into a reaction.

I don't dislike him but he is just goofy af.

I don't ignore posters, but if I did, you would have just made the list. You obviously don't recognize bad character.

Rethink your position.

Hey, anyone who was watching the telecast last night...they’ve been talking a lot about the Dodgers strategy of trying to get the pitch count up and, honestly, I don’t know if that is too out of character for them. But did I hear Smoltz correctly...was he saying he thought that might be contributing to the quiet bats? t did seem like they were more aggressive in the 9th.

If so, that would definitely fall under bone headed mismanagement by Roberts (implementing a strategy that runs counter to your team strength).

Maybe I didn’t hear it right, though.
Hope they forget the results

His account is still accessible. Not sure why you can't tag him if so. Maybe @Freak can clear it up?

I've been avoiding the game threads during the game for the most part. Just popping in from time to time. It gets pretty crazy. People post things that they don't really mean. I've been guilty of that from time to time.
He asked for his account to be cancelled.

That’s the Dodgers normal approach. They always work counts deep. Seagar is really the only one that swings away quickly in nearly every AB and he is still doing that

Our game thread we have is much more level-headed

Bama seems like a must win if we want any chance to pull in anymore big fish this cycle.
don’t see us beating bama
I think the barn and Texas A&M are must wins to show we are at worse fourth best so far after being pretty much rock bottom two or three years ago
Florida would be a significant win and by that time of the year you never know

Did Smoltz say something about it?

Here were the pitch counts in the 9th:

Betts single on 1-2 count
Seager double on 0-1 count
Muncy HR on 2-0 count
Smith reached on error 0-2 count
Bellinger triple on 0-1 count
Pollock final out on 0-1 count (swung at first pitch, too)

Not sure if that’s more aggressive or not. It seemed like it, but maybe not.

You can’t expect a player to take any of those counts other than muncy and he’s walked twice I think before. He approach was great yesterday
I didn’t hear anything said on the broadcast but I could have missed it

The dodgers were one good AB away from really hurting Anderson. He really wasn’t good last night but got away with it
