No such thing as not playing the right position to be a leader. This team is full of experienced juniors and seniors, yet none of them are leaders. It’s sad. That’s either a product of the pansy betas that Butch recruited, or its a product of those who are supposed to be leading them (the coaching staff).

We’ve got 2 options:

1. Keep Pruitt for the next 3-5 years no matter what and let him grow on the job until he gets this thing rolling. Painful process, but it is where we are.

2. Hire Hugh Freeze at the end of the year.

We can’t have another open coaching search at this point. Taking another risk on and up and comer would only set us back another 3-5. I doubt we could haul on a top 5 coach at this point in our history. It would have to be an elite guy that is 100% on board at years end.

It has to be number 1. As posters have stated, no one is firing anyone right now with budgets completely demolished by COVID-19.

The gap between bama and UT talent wise is closer then it was when he took over.... one of main things is their older talent is significantly better

We don’t need to fire him, who the **** is gonna replace him?

Assistant coaches are a big part of the development of talent..... Felton, nieds, maybe not great hires

2. How do we know the gap has? Because it certainly isn’t showing up on the scoreboard against our rivals. Every time we play FL, ga, bama it’s a 3 TD beating... not to mention he has the worst loss in school history lmo vs ga state. Also the blow out from Vanderbilt.
3. He can’t keep assistants so we will never know. Not even through year 3 yet and he has 1 coach (friend) who’s in the same spot as his first staff.

3. We are definitely lacking in coaching consistency. The good news is I think he keeps the OC DC on board so that will provide some consistency for those groups for once

I think Pruitt is leaning on their youth and relationships for recurring purposes while they lack the experience to develop their respective position groups. We have regressed since last year and those coaching shifts along with not hiring an experienced S&C are hurting us imo.

Hank, I know you remember the Memphis, Wyoming, uk with Dooley, etc games.....
We’ve heard in the past anyone would kill for this job and we got Dooley, Butch and now Pruitt . So, where were the big names in those searches?

This team has no intensity. Where is the Pruitt that was showing fire on the sidelines. They are playing to not lose, but end up losing by 30.

Hyatt is elite elite
He straight up dusted Bama with ease over and over last night.
The kid needs to start every game and get 8-10 balls weekly.

I’m not advocating for a firing, but if the talent gap has decreased, but the on-field results haven’t, then that’s a coaching issue.

I’m not advocating for a firing, but if the talent gap has decreased, but the on-field results haven’t, then that’s a coaching issue.

I think a lot has to do with the assistants, on defense the MLB, olb and dline coaches are not good

On offense he need to promote coach o and chip long
