Realistically, I don't think there's any way we can beat Florida. Gotta hope to get lucky and win 4 of the next 5, but AM is going to be a big challenge too.
Which makes this year a bust and puts Pruitt squarely on the hot seat next year. Right now at best we are looking at 7 years imo.

Ansley should not be coaching a position. He should focus on being DC. Why do we need two linebacker coaches?

Good points. Maybe old thinking, ie "we are a 3-4 defense" but really nickel should just be called base defense. Even NFL has gone so far into nickel and a couple teams even play Dime as their base D.

There's no such thing as having a "4-3" or "3-4" base D these days. Everyone runs 11 personnel too much now.

Maybe need more coaching focus on secondary/nickel/lb pass coverage.

Weird that both the middle of the field on offense and defense are awful for us. JG can only throw to the sidelines and our DBs and LBs cannot defend the middle to save their lives.
Maybe because the defense doesn’t get any practice reps defending it, since we never use that part of field on offense?

I trust Pruitt and ansley whole heartedly to develop a defensive gameplan. But i hate the way he insists on moving around players. When they first arrive on campus fine. Find a spot for them even if it takes a while but put them somewhere and leave them. Let them develop their craft at a position. Crouch is a prime example of this. Looked good at edge should’ve left him there and let him develop some moves and he would be our best edge player this year without a doubt.

Would also help if they had the same position coaches for a few games.
I hold a similar philosophy. Cross training is one thing but it takes a mastery in one to open that up. Jmo.

Yup. Imo how I see the rebuild needed to go.
Year 1-2 recruit teach improve.
Year 3 beat who you should get one of the big boys.
Year 4. Compete for the East.
Year 5 win the east be a fringe playoff team.
Right now I dont think we are on that path.
This isn't pictures by numbers tho.

Wild set of early games today.
Glad to see all the vfls for the saints do well. But that was oh so close at the end for the Panthers... At some point we have to beat the saints.

Props to the Titans. Didn't see them holding the Steelers basically scoreless in the second half.... But glad the Steelers pulled that one out...
