At least in regards to defense, the Kentucky game was much more disturbing for me than the Alabama game yesterday. Granted Waddle was out so its not exactly apples to apples, but that Alabama team dismantled a Georgia defense which is substantially better across the board than Tennessee's - so in that regard I understand giving up 41 points (7 were on a scoop and score). Kentucky scored 17 points in the second half and frankly pushed the defense around - that should never happen.

When you were a teenager playing sports, would you put forth 110percent max effort once you see your coaches calling plays that show they are not attempting to win? Players see when coaches waive the white flag. Our defense was just fine vs UGA and KY until in both games in 2nd half Offense either allowed them to be on field too long(UGA) or the obvious white flag play calling on first two drives out of the half(ky)

Beyond scary that either Pruitt or Chaney is waiving the white flag of surrender on first two drives out of second half the last two games putting defense in no win situation. The 2nd drive out of half in each game specifically were drives that coaches told players they quit and don’t trust them.

Funny how people give bowlcut credit for the defenses at bama and then the loaded roster and fertile recruiting ground he inherited but **** all over Pruitt for the defenses he had at three different places and the **** roster he inherited and expect him to out recruit against a loaded Clemson, uga, good NC, etc......

That's a different conversation and I don't disagree.

I trust Pruitt and ansley whole heartedly to develop a defensive gameplan. But i hate the way he insists on moving around players. When they first arrive on campus fine. Find a spot for them even if it takes a while but put them somewhere and leave them. Let them develop their craft at a position. Crouch is a prime example of this. Looked good at edge should’ve left him there and let him develop some moves and he would be our best edge player this year without a doubt.

Would also help if they had the same position coaches for a few games.

What should he get credit for? Having a good defense with a dozen+ nfl players and saban helping install the defensive gameplan? Yea that’s fair. I’ll give credit where credit is due.

Same thing now, and they aren’t good.thats not giving credit where it’s due. But that’s sorta your thing.

Did you not see Hyatt run into Josh Palmer and bring over another DB on the juno ball? Hyatt is a legitimate talent, but he makes freshman mistakes. He shouldn't have been near that ball, and people could've gotten hurt

So what. He makes one mistake and really had two bombs for touchdowns. Play the playmakers

My ND friend says ND players strongly disliked Long so he had to move on.
The big knock I read was his offenses didn't perform in big games...(read: they couldn't score when actually matched vs equal or better talent).

Just wish we'd look for more coaches that do more with less. Forget having "sec experience" or whatever else doesn't matter. Just can outscheme and outcoach better teams.

I’m don’t have a football background outside of watching and Madden, but those with a coaching background...what is the philosophy on this 3rd and 9 alignment. How do we expect to cover the middle of the field here?
We are obviously blitzing in this formation so the immediate middle of the field is going to be wide open.

Pruitt likes coaches he has some kind of prior connection to, which tends to limit his choices.
