Lol I think we ditched that game plan when we realized our receivers get absolutely no separation... like look guys there are three ways to run a slant.
One, you beat your guy and you are succesful. Two, you stack your guy give a move and cut under. Three, if you are having trouble getting off the line you sort of flatten it out to get passed the jam and then work back to the middle.
Pretty simple.....
I don’t blame “Tee” I can only imagine he is telling them the same thing.... at some point your WRs have to take the blame. If you realize as a WR that you can’t get open on a certain route you should probably get with your QB and work on that route a lot.@cHiZzLeVOL keep it up my good sir and you may end up on the field or taking Tee’s spot I’m not sure which just yet!...but with that being said..I’ll get flamed for this but I miss Trooper...we never had issues with WR’s until he left...

Then the rest of your team had to suck out loud. This is simply not true. I did not play football but I played soccer in college. I was not a good practice player. I started every game I ever played from freshmen year of high school til I was done with college. You can identify talent and let them play. Some times they are bad and need time, others are just gamers and show up when they are out on the field.
hubbsOpening:
Two really good practices this week. Fall camp mode, lots of reps for lots of guys. Two more practices this week. Good attitudes and working hard. Have to keep doing that the rest of the year.
working on Arky now...
We have taken the first two days to really focus on us more of a fall camp mode. Each day we add in a couple of periods on Arkansas and build preparations that way.
We have not played very clean football in the first five games from a fundamental standpoint. We have been able to work less experienced guys this week and hopefully that will give us an opportunity to play more guys and get more depth.
On third down calls....
A couple of times we were in four down territory and we tried to take advantage to get to a managable 4th down. there were two times we ran it for first downs.
Handling covid this weekend...
We have been very fortunate since the games have started managing things. I think we probably learned some lessons back in the summer time. We will be back practicing Sunday and Monday next week. So they are only getting Friday and Saturday off. I have confidence they will do the right things.
On filling the open DL spot...
It's something we will do when the season is over with. I like where the DL is headed right now. I felt like we improved last week. Not that it showed all the time on the film. I continue to see that group getting better. We have to continue to improve up there. We have to create negative plays up there.
On leadership...
I think our guys have done a very nice job leading. Are we playing as clean as we want or need to play? No. We have to be better fundamentally. From an attitude and want to everyday in practice I feel like we are going in a positive direction. We have made too many unforced errors.
On secondary...
It's been a mix and match back there because of COVID and injury. McCullough was cleared from COVID the day of the South Carolina. Alontae and Bryce have been beat up. We have to clean a lot of things up there. We need more playmaking back there.
On Monday's work...
Brian and Harrison took most of the snaps. Yesterday we went back to a regular fall camp practice with guys sharing reps.
4th as a true freshman when he wanted to redshirt. 3rd as a sophomore after he outperformed Ferguson...and still desired to redshirt but was 1st man up after Worley couldn’t make a go of it anymore. I remember Clausen dazzled as a true freshman back when enrolling early was a rare thing and that he had won the starting job until he was shelved for “tired arm”. I think it was shoulder damage and that he never really recovered full strength...which makes his career more impressive. All I know is he was 4th on the depth chart..the statement was more of a question..we talked about it in the RF a while back around the damn Andy Kelly BS.. I’m pretty sure it was Clausen as another poster pointed out..
