Bad loss to KY this year. Very bad loss to GA ST last year. Pruitt is undermining his own rebuild with these strange losses.

No reasonable fan expected us to beat UGA or Alabama but you can’t drop the other games so often. Fans are running out of excuses for CJP.
they're not really strange considering the QB play we've gotten in these losses. when JG plays poorly, we lose badly.

when he plays ok, we have a chance. i think that's pretty much the way it's been for us the past two years. we are not capable of overcoming his bad play. we're capable enough to win when we're not shooting ourselves in the foot, the leg, the arm etc......

i mean...if the QB just doesn't suck..........................................we've won more than we lost. we he sucks.............we've lost every single time.

Make your calls for the rest of the season.

Ark - W
Texas A&M - W
Auburn - W
Vandy - W
Florida - L

I think we start playing like we did the first two games of the season and steal one at home against A&M. I think Pruitt's got Auburn's number, so that's a W. We out-talent Arky and Vandy, maybe not as definitively as we should, but we still come out on top. I actually think Florida is more of a toss-up at this point. No one knows how much covid is going to hurt their season, and we could get them off of a loss to UK. Maybe they pack it in at that point. Still, without further evidence, I think Florida's offense is too much for us. We can't stop them enough to be able to get a lead. Overall season record 6-4. Decent bowl birth. Maintain current recruits - bottom of the top 10 class nationally.

LFG
Would be fine with this if that L to Fl was a close game. No more blowouts

If you’re trying to discuss logic with that guy, good luck.

If we're taking equal effort.. Sure. But you said you were a "bad"practice player...

So if you're bad at practice but started, then how bad was the rest of the team at practice...lol

Look it's not breaking news too say that coaches generally play people that display what they expect in games, in practice.

That's why you hear coaches talk about practices having to be very competitive.

Are there veterans/starters on teams that don't necessarily have to do that? Sure.

But those decisions are made situationally.. Not as a matter of process...

None of this is new. And none of it is a road map for what Pruitt should or shouldn't do.

Every time he's put a new QB in they've made big mistakes....
I hated sprints and conditioning. I don’t think anyone understands how crazy conditioning is in college. It felt like a job waking up early and working out. I couldn’t stand it. But if we scrimmaged or we were on the field, I was fine most of the time. Coaches are paid to win games. Period.

This is why I get so upset with Pruitt, especially someone who makes as much as him. We won most of our games so why would our coach make a change even if he felt others were working harder? You don’t make changes and you play your talent. Not every year was great so you would see a lot more subbing.

I get not changing QBs once we started winning last year, but we have been blown out by three teams in a row. One is Kentucky and it was directly because of one person. I know for a fact if our sweeper gave up three easy goals by bad play, he would have been benched immediately. I played harder than anyone on the field, no one out hustled me in a game and my coach knew that so I always started. JG is causing us to lose games and not making a change is craziness to me. My coach would have yanked someone off the field if they made as many bad plays as JG and lost his mind on them.

We have no clue if the other QBs would be better. He won’t play them. Maurer went 1/1 and handed the ball off seven times. Shrout still sucks so he never should have been QB2. And Bailey went 1/4 and should have been 3/4.

We stick with JG too long resulting in a bad 2nd half of the season. Pruitt figures it out by Auburn. 4 wins which matches the Vegas estimates.

If we only win 3 Pruitt is fired.

i can't tell you how many times i've responded to a post, w/out even acknowledging who the poster is.....sometimes i catch myself and just delete it and move on....clearly, didn't happen here.

but i did just delete a post a minute ago, so i'm 1 for 2 today so far.....

This is bad

I’ll be surprised if we get 10 games played

Yeah, I'm still not sure the season gets completed. The cases have exploded in Europe again and they are probably all headed back to full lockdowns. Stock market is down 866 points today at the moment today because of all the new cases here. Fauci is saying 2022 before any return to normalcy. This is just never going to end.

I agree but he needs to be benched earlier. As soon as he makes his first big mistake he needs to sit. JG has a tendency to downward spiral at that point and rarely recovers.

Tuesday night will determine a lot imo.

A few weeks back I’d agreed with that but I have personally encountered a number of covid dealings in the last week or so. Talked with a Hs coach yesterday that said he only had 12 of 35 kids still coming to school on his small school football team. This thing isn’t going away until we get a vaccine and hopefully that’s soon. It’s only going to get worse until then imo

We have to beat Arkansas. If we beat Arkansas and Vandy, and then steal one of AU, A&M, or Fl, things would calm down tremendously. If we beat 2 of those three, then everyone will be right back on board. But if we drop one to Arkansas or Vandy and end up with only 3 wins, sheesh, it's going to get ugly. I think the former is more likely than the latter. I think we see a re-energized team after the bye week and we beat Arkansas, Vandy, and steal one of the big 3.

In all honesty we've only had one bad loss. We wouldn't have been so down after the bama game had the Ky game not happened. The bama game went about like everyone thought it would. They didn't beat us any worse than they beat Ga
Agreed, Bass. It all rests on how we finish.

he played them all, more than once last year. he's played 1 of them once this year, and he promptly thru an pick in the end zone.

there's zero chance that if he, or someone on that offensive staff really though HB, BM or JS was better than JG, that they'd still start JG.

but you're right...we have no idea. the coaches do...they see them im practice, they see them in film study and what they're retaining....

the qb situation still sucks. we knew that was a possiblity headed to this season. and it didn't magically get better w/out the benefit of an off season competition.

i've no doubt that JG is probalby stll the one that does give us the best chance of winning, consistently. that does not mean we will, nor does that mean he'll be consistently better.

BM throws 2 picks int eh scrimmage the other night....Shrout threw one in his only game action this season...HB is still developing.

and JG...is, welll, just the same as he's ever been. now if you want to argue that "it can't be worse", then sure, i'm probably not gonna disagree. but i'm not naive enough to think that it's gonna get better either......

I happened to look at the updated CDC data this morning. In the past seven days, the highest death rate per 100,000 people occurs in North Dakota with 1.2 people. TN is 0.5 deaths per 100,000 people the past 7 days. That’s a 0.0005% death rate over that time period.

Random--- who will we have back on the DL next season? Need some folks to step up and get push...

Roman Harrison-- has he been playing this season in the rotation? I believe I've seen him in the game a few times, but not significant playing time?

Q Crouch-- can we move him to RB or at least to the edge?

JJ Peterson-- ?

Chris Akpo-- anyone know if he is developing like most are hoping?

either way. siap...bench him or don't, i don't think it matters too much. i don't think we magically get so much better at QB by plugging in somebody else that it changes a lot on the season. in fact, i think it probably gets worse, or at best, stays the same.

most of this is fueled by JG fatigue. which i get. i have it too. and i'm sure if i see him do his same old same old next weekend i'll call for his benching, again, as well.

but with a clear head on this Wed of the bye week...............i just dont' think we have a qb in the 3 deep that makes a whole hell of a lot of difference....we've seen them all play, and all of htem have made awful mistakes....i mean awful mistakes.

HB is the wildcard imo. but he has missed so much with this off season being what it was......if by some chance he figures things out to the point the coaches can trust him to go lead the offense....then maybe that does make a difference.

but i'm not counting on that either.....

We actually have the talent to go 4-1.... Let's see if the coaches can make it happen and get the team chemistry and fight back on track.
