Some folks in the analytics community have attempted to nail down certain factors that commonly result in optimized college offenses from a schematic standpoint. The one list I've seen is:

1) Space
2) Pace
3) Optionality - RPOs, zone-reads, etc
4) Simplicity
5) QB as a run threat

Curious how you all would grade our current scheme on these factors. I still think Chaney is wanting an offense that has 4 of these. Imo the only one he may be resistant to is simplicity. Unfortunately rn we feel capped at 2 of them (space, pace). HB may give us a 3rd in optionality (maybe he can run RPOs?). If we could add a run threat at QB and simplify things, we'd essentially be running a Clemson/OSU style. Briles/Lebby is similar in 4 factors, though don't usually push the QB run threat as much and can be more run heavy, but arguably have more optionality, pace, and space. If we have more of a pro style QB this would still be a very optimized route to go.

If this is anything like Bodog/Bovada or online poker "bonuses" you still have to wager an absurd amount over time to ever cash it out. My guess is it is one of those.

Most sites simply do this as a deposit bonus. Here's "a free $100" for depositing with us...but have to wager tens of thousands to actualize it.

I read the terms,it's on the up and up. Draftkings isn't like those shady offshore sites it's fully lega and licensed in the state of Tennessee. You can cash out whenever and your dfs account is linked to the sports book. It's pretty awesome honestly. I may have a problem lol.

Betting 10k each on Opposite sides and splitting the winnings afterward

A same game parlay where they refund your money up to $10 if you lose
Wayne Gallman or Mike Evans first to score +500
Gronk scores and Tampa wins +330

Bodog/Bovada is far from shady. Cashed out for 15+ years there. Many other existed and always paid out too. Used to be checks and now much easier with bitcoin. But that is just how bonuses have always worked and you knew the deal. DK has one right now for $1,000 with the same typical play-through requirements. Not shady, just not quite "free money" either.

Impressive if it really is just a freebie and zero cashout restrictions. They must be making hand over fist and about to do much more. Reeling in all those new fish right about now. 90-95% are long term losers, so a small loss right now for them is probably well worth it in the long run I imagine.

I could see betting sports being problematic lol. Easy way is just to bet very small amounts and spread out your bankroll. It can enhance the fun of watching some games. But unless you approach it as a job, have a backtested model like the books do, and actually trying to beat the house vig, it's easier just to accept it as a small cost of extra entertainment. And sometimes you'll go on a roll too and run it up...ya never know.
