So all but the two coaches that happen to be alum?

I don't think they'll all go, especially with the pandemic limiting options. I'd be surprised if agents weren't putting out feelers. UT has once again turned a promising season into a Very Bad Awful No Good Year. Nobody's feeling good about it. And some have clauses in their contracts that give them a way out without paying UT a buyout.

Real bad look in contrast to the basketball staff, who actually have a good product, unanimously taking pay cuts.
It’s not a coincidence IMO. Rick Barnes is a great man and a great leader. He knows how to surround himself with similar people.

I actually think Pruitt has what it takes to be that kind of guy but his inexperience year is crippling him. He’s gotta use this off-season to find like minded people. Don’t worry about if they have a big name or whatever

Ok? How many of your employees took pay cuts? Fulmer took one correct so this is the same in your situation? The boss took one? I mean sure it’s a decent thing to do when you make what they make but they signed a contract to make that amount. First off you gave them the deal.... second their pay cuts won’t do crap for 40 million dollar loss... third they work for a university that isn’t hurting for money and will make a lot back next year. It’s petty anyway you spin it. I can’t blame anyone who got hired somewhere at one pay rate then are asked to take less and they refuse.

My people have chosen to forego raises and stay with me during difficult times specifically because they know what I'm willing to do for them. There is far more to a quality job than how much you make.

Butch and Dooley had a better showing in year 3
Agree. How much weight do we put, tho, on a) Pruitt is cleaning up the mess left by Butch abd Currie abd b) 2020 being a s**t show in general that didn't exactly lend itself to normal football season?

Legit? I think I know how I feel...

It was only partially about money, because really, those contributions are a small drop in a $40MM bucket. It was about standing together and making a unified effort to help the university. People were only asked to take a short-term cut. They were told that UT was looking for full unity, which would have sent a strong message. Most were immediately responsive.

Both of our football coordinators refused... and refused. It says something about commitment when two of the highest-paid coordinators in college football-- and the two highest paid assistants on Pruitt's staff-- won't agree to an eight-month reduction to support an All Together effort. It's difficult to build a unified program with that sort of "leadership."
Then fire them! I think we should clean house completely, bring in Freeze, retain Tee and Jay, since they are VFLs and good coaches, and let’s ride!

With the exception of Niedermeyer, Osovet, Tee, and maybe Graham, Pruitt has made some really bad assistant hires.

I agree with this.

Each individual has the right to choose if they want a paycut or not. The media bringing negative attention to this is not right in my opinion.

I agree that each has a choice. But they know their contract is public and thus they are a "public figure." That is something to take into consideration with making decisions.

Fire them all.

Dude the university will be fine financially. You signed guys to a certain contract you can’t be mad at them for wanting you to uphold that contract and pay what you agreed to. It doesn’t matter. It’s just negative press cause our football team is losing. If we were winning none of this crap would even come to light.

Impossible to know how it'll all shake out. Friend's contract is up. Weinke's likely gone if he can find something better, and there will be many sighs of relief. Chaney's on cruise control so if he'll amble back to Arkansas to join his good buddy Pittman, that'll give Pruitt a do-over-over. It wouldn't be surprising if most who refused to sign the contract amendment are looking to move on.
What are the chances of Chip Long as OC?

UT isn't in a position or the mindset to clean house. But we could help some guys out the door and make it easy for them to go. Fulmer's really good at that-- i.e., Helton. Bet Pruitt could be, too, if there are guys he thinks are good coaches but not the right fit here.

I'm not worried about the university in the slightest. I'm saying it speaks to their integrity. You disagree. No big deal.
