Agree completely. Which, once again, points to making the elite hire immediately and locking in. Or else they can keep doing what they have been doing for a dozen years and that hole will get deeper and deeper. Which will be the end of Vol football as we once knew and loved it. We are nearing the point of no return as it is. JMO.
I'm no where close to giving up on him. I just have doubts that this staff will get him ready or put him in places to succeed when game time comes around. I have all the confidence in young Mr. Bailey. It's the coaches that I have doubts in.All the emotional fan stock in landing Bailey and we give up on him before he gets a chance? Such a Tennessee thing.
As it alwAys should be done. We'll try to backchannel a deal, then terminate and announce, bypassing an acrimonious firing and public search that would spawn another PR nightmare. Tough to pull off with the media scrutiny UT gets, but that would be the preference. I don't think it'll be this year... though I do think UT will be proactive in gauging interest from a very short list.
Butch in your recollection do a bang up job in those departments for Dobbs?I'm no where close to giving up on him. You do realize most of your notes are coaching failures and decisions made by our joke of a staff. We had two weeks to prepare too. Loss is inexcusable.Err Arky beat us by 11...at home...and that's with us wasting 4 possessions with Maurer netting all of 20 yards. Had JG not been injured, Shrout traveled, or maybe HB been qb2, we had a real shot.
I think Butch and DeBord did better at QB development than what we're seeing now, yes but also Dobbs was a true dual threat qb that could make the coaches look better than they were. I don't see Bailey as having that skill set. Do you?Butch in your recollection do a bang up job in those departments for Dobbs?
I've grown up in GA so I know lots of UGA fans. One of my best friends is a huge UGA fan and he blames the whole season on Kirby. Last year Coley was the scapegoat, but Kirby isn't super popular after this year. He had a surefire top 3 pick and botched that, brought in two transfers that didn't or haven't played, and have played a mediocre Bennett and horrible Mathis while Beck is no where near ready to play. How’s UGA’s fans feeling about the season? I assume they are pissed, but give the coaching staff a pass because if the QB situation. Of course, that situation was created by the coaches.
I think he’s superior in running a passing offense...better passer. Lot to work with and not as much development needed.I think Butch and DeBord did better at QB development than what we're seeing now, yes but also Dobbs was a true dual threat qb that could make the coaches look better than they were. Yeah changes may be coming but im hoping it's the HC. I'll believe our joke of a coach that changes are coming when I see them on the field.I'll be honest to lose anyone other than HB in the qb room is not a problem. Haven't heard anything about a transfer but it happens, and as a coach you just have the next guy ready to play. Your 2nd question as it pertains to the locker room, absolutely not. The kids believe in 90% of what CJP says and follows his lead. CJP is an old school leader of men. He knows how to rally the troops. I was just down there to handle some business and the energy was very positive. The last question is definitely a head scratcher but I was very upset and had to ask this myself. They basically felt as a staff HB was not ready nor did the trust Strout. Then there was the multiple issues with Mauer from trust to injury bug. So they went with the head ache over the unknown. Just know I was told there are changes coming.
I agree but passing relies on effective play call and execution from.several people. Chaney has to call the right play for a particular defense. Riecevers have to run sharp, crisp routes, the O-line has to block well enough for the play to develop, and the qb has to recognize the open man without staring down his target, and then deliver the ball to the receiver. I don't have the confidence that this staff can get everyone working is the same direction. Nice to have Dobbs running ability when things don't go as planned.I think he’s superior in running a passing offense...better passer. Lot to work with and not as much development needed.
I don’t get this line of thinking. Keep a proven loser just Bc you don’t get 1 of countless coaches that could do far better? I love HF, don’t get me wrong but he is one of many that would do great things here.
But who's to say Bailey shines? What if he looks like JG, Mauer, Strout. Other coaches will use that and point to player development. I agree I would love to see this team turn it around. I just don't see it. Pruitt is here whether we like it or not, at least through 21. May as well concentrate on recruiting. The best way to do that is not having to overcome weekly drudgings on the field. It's ashame but that's the probably the best thing in regards to recruiting. The coaches would be free to go 100% recruit mode.
If we play and while bailey does well the team still gets smashed, in embarrassing fashion, causing the recruiting class to implode which is entirely possible, worth 4 games for Bailey to show his stuff? To me the seasons already in the dumpster, on fire at that, I'd rather sacrifice the season to salvage a decent recruiting class but that's just me. I think getting demoralized for four weeks will be devastating to recruiting.Well we can play the what if's but how we aren't going to know if we don't play him. Would you rather find out this season that is already shot or next season that will more than likely a normal season? And what if he is awesome? What if he is a stud?
My UGA friends think Kirby, Pruitt, and Muschamp are all the same. Kirby just got handed an ace hand to begin with.I've grown up in GA so I know lots of UGA fans.
