Here's what's going to happen.

We go 3-7 or 2-8 but Fulmer and admin will let Pruitt try again next year with Salter because everyone thinks he's going to be amazing. We hire some new asst coaches and promote some others already on the staff and then go 6-6 juuuust good enough to keep him around one more year.
I can already tell this board thinks Salter is something he isn’t.

I think Salter can be good an provide a dimension we don’t currently have with his legs. Especially in the right offense. I’m not about to give up on HB though. I was more hyped for him as a player than anyone in recent history.

Sure. I think he’s going to be good.

But he’s not, “hand the offense over on Day 1, pin your lame duck coach’s future on him” good.

No 18 year old QB is.

If money is the only reason he’s not fired, that’s the worst way to approach this. This fan base will go absolutely ape S*** if they go out and make a splash hire. Donations would be coming in at record levels if they really needed help after finally showing the fan base they care about winning. Apathy is going to cost UT more money in the end.

Welp...it finally happened..my wife started running a fever and coughing last evening so I took her to get the Covid test this morning and it came back positive. I have a little bit of headache and sore throat and that's about it. It was bound to happen sooner or later, we are both in health care and it honestly shocks me that it has taken this long to hit us.

Prayers appreciated that we are not among the unlucky ones.

What else can HB do in two series in a game they have already lost? He led them to a TD on the first and was driving on the second. He hit the right receivers in stride. He did not overthrow, used touch when needed, and fired hard when necessary. When it was not there he threw high and outside away so it would not be grounding. He stepped up and shifted laterally as necessary in the pocket. He scrambled once for a 7 yard gain - something Fromm did repeatedly at UGA that everybody on here admired. That moves the sticks. He knows more how to operate at the position than anybody since Dobbs and he had total playing time equivalent of about one quarter of one game. He did that well because he came ready to play from HS. This was already him. It has nothing to do with what this staff did or didn't do with him.

If Salter comes he gets to compete like everybody else, hopefully with a new, real coaching staff that can develop players.

The ones he did overthrow were intentional on out routes that had no chance to be completed. Didn’t force anything. You can tell he’s been working with great QB coaches for a long time.
