Sounds like he turned down an interview with them. They are pretty down over there, sort of like us, but they are already down on Beamer an he hasn't even been hired. Apparently Clawson is a possibly being interviewed.

The first call would be to Urban, I would make him say no. He is the only “sure thing” hire out there. I’m not crazy about him as a person but he is a flat out winner and would do the same here. Most people would say he doesn’t want to go against Saban every year but Saban is almost done.

I mean, don’t think he would do it, but call and offer him 8/year and see what he says. When he says no, call Freeze. Search over.

In reading through the Freeze threads, it appeared to me that the only difference between the old Gruden threads and the Freeze threads is that we don't currently have an opening. If it's this bad without an opening, what's it gonna be like if we have an opening? I bet we have some insiders come out of the woodwork and crank it up. I can't wait myself :cool::cool::cool:. Those were some really good times :cool::cool::cool:.

Well I’d go with the big difference being that Freeze is a realistic option...

But it would implode quickly - and I don't believe he's a good enough coach to consistently win at the top of this conference, especially facing Saban, Mullen and Smart each year.

People point to those two wins vs. Alabama, and I won't take them away or discredit them, but in 2015 when he beat Alabama, he lost to Memphis and Arkansas.

In 2014 when they beat Alabama, they finished third in the West behind Bama and Mullen and Mississippi State.

He's a good coach, but he's a hollow winner and a certified bad person - and a risk to get your program in serious trouble. He ain't worth the risk.
