We felt pretty good at the end of last year and this year has been such an unusual year (especially for a new coach)

We did feel pretty good at the end of last year because the games were wins at the end of the day. That said, that 6 game streak had 3 nailbiters. The average margin of victory was just about 11 points. Compare that to CBJ's 6 game streak to end 2015. They were winning by 22 points per game and only 1 game was remotely in question. We were blowing everyone else out. Not about CBJ, but just a comparison.

All to say - the hope given by how we ended last year was a bit of a mirage. Half of the games absolutely could have gone either way and 0 were against ranked teams.

Cjp can win some close games...but then his losses are just awful. Typically not a good recipe once you look past the blanket W/L records. Predictive of future failure.

Reading the South Carolina board and their big insider is saying it looks like it won't be Napier. They couldn't afford him apparently.

Happy Thanksgiving VN
I am thankful for salvation through Jesus Christ.
In the context of Vol Nation, thankful we can come on here and fuss and argue, but at the end of the day we all want the best Football program possible at UT. Also thankful that when people can come on here and ask for prayer or vent on personal issues and people step up. God Bless and Go Vols!

Even if he didn't win a championship, it would sure be a lot of fun putting up 45 points a game. We would win a lot of games and I believe he is a championship caliber coach. Would love to see what he could do here. Some are just resigned to us being terrible so let's hire another unproven! Not me, I want a guy who we know can win at a high level. That's Hugh Freeze.
Dooley?

Prayer warriors, please lift up my 6-year-old niece to the Lord for healing. She is at LeBonheur with MIS-C, a secondary condition to COVID. A transfusion was administered yesterday that yielded positive results and another round is being done now. She was asymptomatic when she was infected, and from what the doctors can tell from the results of the PcR test, they believe she contracted COVID in October or before. Thank you for your support and prayers. Go Vols!

If Pruitt would have stepped into 2018 with a Sophomore Josh Dobbs instead of a Sophomore Jarrett Guarantano, would that have made him a better coach the past 3 years?
If Dobbs was not a good practice player, it wouldn't have made any difference at all because he would never have seen the field.

Not sure if this is worth monitoring or not because we all assume he’d rather stay north, but Luke Fickell was close to taking the Michigan State job last year at $5M per year.

We can match that number and provide a much better job.

The thing with Fickell is, you’re always sweating if Ohio State comes open.
We wouldn’t have to sweat about OSU. Ryan Day will be there for a long, long time unless he’s fired for cause

JG has more tds for other teams than for us since the second half of georgia. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to bench him.
Or a rocket scientist to fire the highly paid staff that doesn't have another answer. What if he got injured? No one was prepared according to the gump.
