This is fascinating to me. So what should the realistic expectations be here at TN? I am being serious.

Win the East 3-4 times a decade
Win an SEC title 1-2 times
Go to the playoff at least once a decade

This is our program in a nutshell, and what it needs to be.

I think realistic expectations here are to perpetually win 8 per year with better teams creeping up to the 10 wins per year. Be competitive with your rivals and actually win some of those games against UF, UGA, UA

What’s up fellas. It’s been a while. Well, the past 9 months have been ridiculously hard. Not because of Covid either. After 21 years, I filed for divorce. Circumstances aren’t important but it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I was a wreck for 3 days. But I have to look out for my 4 kids as they don’t need to grow up in a chaotic home. They deserve peace. Anyway, football hasn’t seemed all that important this year. But I’m good, I have peace and know God has got me and the kids in his hands. Appreciate the prayers.

I didnt realize that Michigan had never extended Harbaugh. They only owe him $10 million if fired. Texas would owe Herman $15.5, Malzahn is at $21.5 million and James Franklin is $38.4 million.

Vandy doesn't release details of contracts, but Mason signed a supposedly large extension last year.

Bama went from mediocre to elite in about 4 years. No reason Tennessee can't do the same with the right hire.

It was his dream job. He was young and immature. We've all made rash decisions at his age. It is what it is. Hes matured let him come and fix it. Worse case scenario he's a 6-8 win coach and brings a fun offense to watch for a bit.

Anybody else find themselves really not caring about any football today? I used to get so much pleasure out of watching random games or rooting for underdogs or rooting against teams, etc.. Today I really couldn’t care less and truth be told I didn’t even know who was playing. Didn’t even realize today was the iron bowl until I ran across it.

Legion of the miserable, lol. It’s just apathy all the way around.

Oh it’s so inconsequential to my day anymore. Which is weird since I spend so much time on here. Watched 5 minutes of the Iron Bowl before getting bored.

I've always thought being terrible at your job should be cause for firing. Extensions should come with losing record clauses that allow you to be fired for cause.

UF wasn’t mediocre for a long time before Meyer. Also look at the SEC back then. No Saban. Fulmer at the end of his career. UK and SC weren’t good. Completely different now.

There is no way Bama not UF could have known Saban and Meyer would achieve what they did.
