I would agree I just do not think he would be in play. Not because he isn't qualified but his buyout is around 6 million. In my opinion his next stop is one of 3 places. Michigan, Texas, or the NFL.

If we are moving down the coaching wish list once again I would prefer Chadwell over Napier.

If we are moving down the coaching wish list once again I would prefer Chadwell over Napier.

Napier is 1–1 vs Chadwell. Chadwell won in a close one this year, but Napier did beat him like 48-7 last year. fwiw.

Each would probably wanna prove themselves I'm sure. As far as up and comers go I would be fine with either one. Marrone has to be explored if Freeze is a no go. A grizzled vet who hasn't reached twilight yet. 56 years old. He could hire a great staff. Similar to Herm at ASU. Lots of guys working for him with plenty of NFL experience. Throw in some recruiters and let's hit the ground running.

Tons of similarities between the two UTs.

Texas prints money and has never been told “No” by a coach they wanted. they’ve also showed they will cut bait Early (Chollie Strong) and looks like Herman is about to be out. There isn’t much stopping them from hiring their “Pete Carroll” like maybe Matt Campbell and going on a run like USC

Good hire for them. Obviously not what they were ultimately shooting for but he will hire a good staff and he will be hungry to prove himself. I compare him to the Drinkwitz hire for Mizzou. Unassuming guy who may just be what that program needs.
