Boys, we better do something soon at HC because we are about to move into Vandy range with Missouri turning things around and USC getting a similar style coach. We just aren’t going to be able to keep up with this new style of high scoring offenses. This could go from bad to worse if we hang on to this coach

I have continued to tout Marrone. Hubbs mentioned him in the Friday podcast as one of the assistant coaches he enjoyed dealing with during his year on staff. He would've gotten a bigger college job if he had continued what looked to be a successful rebuild at Syracuse. He's been mediocre in the NFL but that's happened to countless coaches who've had great success at the college level.
Marrone has a connection to Fulmer, right? That's the other reason he's been mentioned?

Call me crazy, but until the JG meltdown at Georgia in the second half. We weren’t playing our best football and still ahead at half. With proper qb play we very well could be a one loss team heading into to Florida with a chance for Atlanta on the line. Or am I wrong on that?
anyways what in the world happened to this team? They have fully followed the trajectory of JGs play. When he’s playing decent we are in the game, when he inevitably stops producing and turning it over the defense follows suit. I’m all for a change but I have to ask myself surely our coaches aren’t this bad?

Guess or you got a little smoke?
VFL’s not happy and letting it be known. Seems like a lot are close to jumping off. IF we get blown out next weekend, the heat is going to be immense. It’s just a guess. Our recruiting is starting to drop off and more decommits are coming. Our top candidates seasons will be over so if we were to make a move before ESD, I think we would do it shortly after UF. Finally a good pool of coaches to chose from that would all like to coach at UT (Freeze, Napier, or Chadwell).

I’m with you 100% on this @drvenner but I choose not to live life in bitterness,just isn’t worth it.I’m more than willing to forgive,it just takes time.🙂 plus I really want to win and be relevant again so our kids and grandchildren can witness what this sleeping giant of a fanbase is all about.they deserve that.....We Deserve that.🙂🧡🤍 all love🙏🏽
You make some valid points. I guess I am a little bitter about it. There are no guarantees no matter who we bring in. We do deserve better as a fanbase. No hard feelings toward you at all, Brother. I will try to let some of my anger at him go. Not saying I want him here, but still need to let some of it go.

I personally think getting rid of JG will have a lot bigger positive impact on UT going forward than any coaching changes. JMO

JP needs one year without horrible, inconsistent qb play. JG has been like fools gold for him IMO
His decision. He decided not to take transfer or play Bailey day one. That’s on him for making a bad decision.

Just like last year, when JG started the game we played poorly. When he came off the bench, much better. I think the guy is just a bad omen or something. From the start of the WV game 2 years ago, its been a litany of colossal blunders, with a few shiny pennies mixed in here or there to make you think, "well only if_______, JG can be a decent QB." He is what he is. Hopefully, Pruitt finally realizes he'd better play HB the rest of the way. So at least you have some film to teach him with going forward.

Here's the thing though as well its better for his job security if HB starts these last three games...I know AV and others have been saying 100% Pruitt is back next year. But if he trots JG out there against FL and A&M, and we lose by 40 to both, hes in serious trouble. But if he plays HB and that happens he can chalk it up to a FR QB.

Texas prints money and has never been told “No” by a coach they wanted. they’ve also showed they will cut bait Early (Chollie Strong) and looks like Herman is about to be out. There isn’t much stopping them from hiring their “Pete Carroll” like maybe Matt Campbell and going on a run like USC
Then why have they been so average since Vince Young?

I tend to agree, as crazy as it sounds with the string of double-digit losses, but we aren’t as bad as it seems.

UGA = they whipped us at LOS, but the QB carelessness put us in a no-win situation

UK = 100% QB play

Bama = we just ain’t even close yet

Arkansas = 100% QB play

Auburn = 100% QB play

A legit QB and this is a very different season. We have run the ball well, for the most part. The defense hasn’t been as bad as it seems, especially considering the offensive challenges that pits them in bad spots.

If Fulmer sticks with Pruitt, I can see a path out of this mess. Not saying Pruitt can get it done, but a legit QB would make a world of difference.

Which is why he will not make it as HC here without a brain transplant or just getting lucky.

LSU's Johnson finally got his chance after Finley pulled his best JG impression. Ogre yanks Finley. Instead of throwing a Pick 6 like Finley when getting tackled at their own 2 yard line, Johnson takes the sack. They punt so LSU D can do its job. Johnson later leads them to a TD. The more snaps he got the more you could see him settle in against a really strong D. Had he started that game they probably would have beaten aTm. aTm only scored 13 points on LSU's D.

JT Thomas - we could have had him if Jeremy had told JG there was no future for him at UT after last season. The bowl game against IU should have been enough. Jeremy already had HB coming in along with Holiday. There was no downside had Jeremy told JG to transfer or sit. Even Kirby figured that out.

Mizzou - Bazelak. Even his current back-up looks better than JG, who was a third stringer at the start of the season.

Any doubts on Mullen having Emory Jones ready next season? Any doubts Mullen will have a good QB as long as he coaches there? Shouldn't be any.

All examples of better HC's making better decisions at the most important position on the field.

Someone mentioned Jason Candle and my whole body shut down.

That’s a classic UT hire. “We wanted Matt Campbell but couldn’t get him. We went with one of his assistants.”
If UT took another assistant I’d be out. I’ll watch from afar, but I won’t spend any money. I will not plan weekends around the games. I will support the other sports more.

He’s the HC at Toledo, but has been pretty average there.

He was Campbell’s OC before he left to Iowa State.
