While I understand where you are coming from, I’m sure there are very few VFLs who have enough pull to cause a change to happen. Most are just fans like us with a little more prominence. With that said, I still think something is going on behind the scenes with Pruitt may be negotiating a buyout, because he wants out. Just way too much smoke, and when Hubbs and the crew start kicking around a lot of things that they have mentioned, you know something is going on. They just don’t do that.VFL’s not happy and letting it be known. Seems like a lot are close to jumping off. IF we get blown out next weekend, the heat is going to be immense. It’s just a guess. Our recruiting is starting to drop off and more decommits are coming. Our top candidates seasons will be over so if we were to make a move before ESD, I think we would do it shortly after UF. Finally a good pool of coaches to chose from that would all like to coach at UT (Freeze, Napier, or Chadwell).
I agree with that, I also can’t ignore the same red flags we’ve seen with the last failing regimes. And the fact Pruitt would want to intentionally send JG out there after multiple seasons of film showing he will have catastrophic turnovers. JGs issue isn’t that he stalls the offense. It’s that he hands our opponent points at the most critical points in a game. It’s the worst luck of any qb I have ever witnessed in my 15-16 years of following the vols closely.I tend to agree, as crazy as it sounds with the string of double-digit losses, but we aren’t as bad as it seems.
UGA = they whipped us at LOS, but the QB carelessness put us in a no-win situation
UK = 100% QB play
Bama = we just ain’t even close yet
Arkansas = 100% QB play
Auburn = 100% QB play
A legit QB and this is a very different season. We have run the ball well, for the most part. The defense hasn’t been as bad as it seems, especially considering the offensive challenges that pits them in bad spots.
If Fulmer sticks with Pruitt, I can see a path out of this mess. Not saying Pruitt can get it done, but a legit QB would make a world of difference.
That may be all he posts in the game thread.@nicksjuzunk would say

They have more pull than what is being led on. Yes, everything ultimately comes down to money. But plenty of VFL’s give a good amount of money too. I remember Pruitt calling my neighbor to discuss the season before the season started and inviting him and some other VFL’s to his house over the summer. He was asking them to help with recruiting and other things to help the program. Fulmer talks to a lot of VFL’s and it certainly doesn’t help a coach when they aren’t your biggest fan.While I understand where you are coming from, I’m sure there are very few VFLs who have enough pull to cause a change to happen.
