While I understand where you are coming from, I’m sure there are very few VFLs who have enough pull to cause a change to happen. Most are just fans like us with a little more prominence. With that said, I still think something is going on behind the scenes with Pruitt may be negotiating a buyout, because he wants out. Just way too much smoke, and when Hubbs and the crew start kicking around a lot of things that they have mentioned, you know something is going on. They just don’t do that.

He was the definite 1b by the time they offered. We have no idea on what tires were kicked. I’m of the opinion Gruden shut down any interest. And Mullen was offered the job before Schiano. As soon as Mullen went with the Gators, Currie had his flight plan logged to Columbus.

Interesting thing here from the Vanderbilt beat writer: he’s reporting that the rescheduling of the Tennessee game put pressure on the VU administration to make a decision quicker than they would have otherwise.

Basically, they didn’t want to get all the way to signing day and then make the move. They want a new coach in place beforehand, even if simply to ask their current commits to not sign elsewhere and give him a chance to recruit them into February.

The precedent has been set.

I wouldn’t take Herman. If he can’t win big at Texas he sure wouldn’t here.

One important thing about this hire is that it offer hope. Hope is all that has been keeping us going since Fulmer was fired. We hire Herman or Fuente (good grief Kingston), there’s no hope there.

Freeze is the guy. Campbell and Fickle offer hope, tho I don’t think either come here. I don’t know much about Napier.

I want us to hire Freeze because he’s as close to a sure thing as there is. But I don’t want a retread if we don’t go that route. Give me an up and comer who brings hope over a guy that we know can’t succeed at a high level
