I wonder if someone is going to get really creative soon and think of an "outside the box" way to slow these offenses down. I feel many are still slowly transitioning away from being focused on stopping the run (Pruitt DEFINITELY is). These passing offenses are going nuts.

Will we see some "base dime" defenses? Quarters? Maybe something way more outside the box conceptually?

There is an over protection of QB’s, liberal interpretation of pick plays, and zero fear of going across the middle anymore. Add in the fact that PI is favored towards offense and this is what you get. As soon as the targeting and roughing passer stuff started this explosion in offense followed.

I’ve been 80% numb to Tennessee football since we hired Butch. Once we botch this hire I think I’ll finally be able to walk away. At least that’s the hope.

We’re a bball school now for as long as Barnes is here. SEC is getting more serious about it so we’re finally ahead of the curve on something. I hope we continue to emphasize bball in this new landscape.

Freeze
Gus
O’Brien
Franklin

Chadwell just got a new contact
Not sure we’re in a position to wait and see on Napier or Chadwell for that matter

I feel close to the same. My passion for football has decreased a lot the last ten years. I used to spend all Saturday on football. Then, about 7 years ago I began only watching UT. Now I watch most games and only watch some to halftime.

If we get another bad hire I may take a break for awhile. We will see, hard habit to kick when your family are all alumni and are passionate about UT sports.

He thinks he can win.

Fulmer is very much like Pruitt as far as being stubborn. It appears his wagon has been hitched to Pruitt and he's either too prideful or too stubborn to admit defeat. For those of us who were around and lucid 2005-2008, we remember what this looks like.

Ironic that I believe by trying to be a blocker here, Fulmer threatens to force Boyd to remove him. If he does, then wholesale changes in the AD are more likely. The more there are wholesale changes in the AD, the fewer impediments there are to moving toward a Freeze or Kiffin hire.

Leave it to UT's athletic department to turn coaching carousels into a quadratic equation.
