I wish I had 25% the passion for basketball as I do for football.I’ve been 80% numb to Tennessee football since we hired Butch. Once we botch this hire I think I’ll finally be able to walk away. At least that’s the hope.
We’re a bball school now for as long as Barnes is here. SEC is getting more serious about it so we’re finally ahead of the curve on something. I hope we continue to emphasize bball in this new landscape.
Blame the year on Covid, Nieds takes the fall for the recruiting. Gray gets suspended, Maurer transfers out. Pruitt won't negotiate a lower buyout and the school refuses to pay him the full one. Maybe one or two more staff changes for those if any other are implicated as well. I don't want it to happen but it would not surprise me one bit if it did.Based on what?
Gray had a Neids credit card or something like that. Mauer riding shotgun. Mims recruitment.Missed 300 pages..
what happened with Gray and the coaches today?
Is the snafu that @Atlanta VOL was talking about the recruiting violations?
Also anything else interesting?

Eh sounds like house cleaning to me. Fulmer was supposed to be temporary but they never replaced him and now they’re making a play to get rid of both. Tying them together neat as can be. Next up we will welcome Schiano 2.0 and the cycle will continue. How can Fulmer take loses to Georgia State, double digits losses 7 times this year, the mismanagement of the coaches' salaries, NCAA issues, tensions within assistant coaches, mediocre recruiting, and uninspiring play and realistically think Pruitt deserves another year? Seriously, how? Admit he's a failure and Phil possibly saves his job. Stick with him and Phil's going out the door too.
Offenses and defenses adapt to the rules they are bound to play by. The rules have been modified to favor high scoring offense because to the average fan, that's exciting and sales tickets. The educated fan appreciates stout defense and the chess match that goes on between the offense and defense in a lower scoring game.I wonder if someone is going to get really creative soon and think of an "outside the box" way to slow these offenses down. I feel many are still slowly transitioning away from being focused on stopping the run (Pruitt DEFINITELY is). These passing offenses are going nuts.
Will we see some "base dime" defenses? Quarters? Maybe something way more outside the box conceptually?
@HankHill is there anything on the horizon defenses are attempting or are 40 ppg offenses just going to be the new norm?
Why is he down at the end zone of the sky boxes? Granted, that’s still good seats but the AD can’t sit fitty? Or was he hiding out down there?Saw him today, from my seat actually...View attachment 332217

Ah, babysitting the littles in the box they couldn’t sell.He was only there for the first quarter or so (at least at that spot I could see). Since there was nothing interesting happening on the field I entertained myself staring for the longest, wondering if it was him or not. He turned to face my way and confirmed it. Saw kids running around in that box throughout the rest of the game.
