Maybe at first, but wouldn’t that give them leverage to recruit better? Currently we have a massively lopsided echo chamber where only the top 6-8 programs can legitimately compete. Open it up and I think you see better coaches and players stay at the current G5 level. All in all it’s the change the sport needs to stay relevant.Poor Ball State and San Jose State would get slaughtered and be boring.
Let them play in a bowl.
Yes. Because expanding from 2 to 4 has made the game better. They wouldn't give a ****, and likely don't give a **** about bowls. It would help them recruit, saying hey we CAN make the playoff here. They would get more money from the playoff, it would change the game.
4-13 all have upset potential too.1.) Alabama vs 16.) UAB
2.) Clemson vs 15.) Ball St.
3.) Ohio State vs 14.) San Jose
4.) Notre Dame vs 13.) Oregon
5.) Texas A&M vs 12.) Coastal Carolina
6.) Oklahoma vs 11.) Indiana
7.) Cincinnati vs 10.) Georgia
8.) Iowa State vs 9.) Florida
That would be a fun day of football.
