Everyone is naming the same coaches over and over again. I made a list of some others that I haven’t really seen named. I know it is hard to get NFL coaches to come to college but they are all aspiring to be head coaches or have been in the past. What are your thoughts. In no particular order:
Arthur Smith (Titans OC)
Kellen Moore (Cowboys OC)
Brian Daboll (Bills OC)
Greg Roman (Ravens OC)
Robert Saleh (49ers DC)
Todd Bowles (Bucs DC)
Leslie Frazier (Bills DC)
Jerod Mayo
Do you really want to know people's thoughts on these?

Greg Roman would be a very good hire. On paper that is. Never been a HC so not sure how well he would handle that aspect.

But his time at Stanford and in the NFL - I think he could possibly get it done.

Greg Roman is one that I had seen brought up before (2013?). Supposedly Texas had some discussions with Gary Kubiak that don't seem to have gone anywhere. Maybe worth a call?

If that's the case, add him to the short list. The guy's a real coach.

I mean record is a talking point, but you also have to look at quality opponents. They were undefeated last year and went on to face a 7-5 Washington team in the las vegas and lost 38-7. Couple years prior in the cactus bowl they were a 10 win team and got beat 31-12 by a 6-6 Baylor team.

I want someone who has had success on the big stage, a power 5 conference. I dont want another up and comer who's had great success at a smaller level.

People want Chadwell because of 1 really good season. We can't just keep screwing this up. We could have had some good coaches in the past, but we want bargain bin. We seemed to have wanted to put some money up last search, but because currie royal screwed up that search we ended up with a coordinator who's had elite talent his whole career.

Reduction of scholarships effects the 85. We don't have 42 WRs and 9 RBs, well, given the last 2 years we might have close to 9 RBs, but we sure as hell don't have 42 WRs. It's beside the point. No scholarship reductions! Dammit!

When you do self penalties recruit deduction is always one that happens.

Hiring NFL guys with no experience dealing with recruiting is a problem. Most those guys aren’t coming to the Hill. Moore may go to Boise when that job opens up again though.

The CFP is a joke. The committee is a joke. Expand the playoff, give teams like Cincinnati a chance. Every level of football from HS to NFL settles it on the field with an expanded playoff. Every level of collegiate football settles it on the field except the biggest one. Cut the BS about the importance of the regular season and bowls. Kids are opting out of the bowls, kids are opting out of the regular season. An expanded playoff makes every game important, it makes conference championships important.

Cut two gimme games
All 10 conference champions + 6 highest ranked at larges.
Settle it on the field.
