With him doubling down on Pruitt, do you honestly believe there is any possibility of this?In all honesty, I liked the Fulmer hire for AD. I knew he felt that he had been conspired against at the end, but I had hopes that him getting the AD position would reconcile some of those old feelings. Apparently not however. He’s got to understand that it’s a new day and age of college football. 3 years with little to no improvement is grounds for termination. That sounds rough, but it’s the business of winning at an elite level in football now.
they should just use the BCS formula, and let the top 4 play. scrap the committee.
as far as expanding, there's no real point. after the top 5-7 teams, there's a gap.
so i could see doing a 1 and 2 seed bye, and let 3-6 play, then semi's, and NT.
but that's as far as i'd go on expanding it. would just be pointless from a competitive standpoint....cincy is a great story. they're not beating Alabama, Clemson or OSU....but heck if they got in at 6, good on 'em. no way they should be top 4.
and aTm should get in this year over ND and/or OSU. what those two schools did this year to set themselves up for a play off berth is almost criminal. ND gets to rent the ACC for a year and play for that conf title game and the Big 10 just changes the rules to whatever benefits them....
complete crock. hope they both get run out of the building and we get Bama/Clemson again. and everyone can sit around watch the, what, 5th/6th Bama/Clemson match up in the playoff/national title game.
that's something everyone should be excited about...........
Wasn’t a fan when he first applied for the job. Felt he’d need to learn on the job too much...especially on the business side of things. Issued a mea culpa last year feeling he’d proved me way wrong. That lasted until this Pruitt’s Last Stand business. In all honesty, I liked the Fulmer hire for AD. I knew he felt that he had been conspired against at the end, but I had hopes that him getting the AD position would reconcile some of those old feelings. Apparently not however. He’s got to understand that it’s a new day and age of college football. 3 years with little to no improvement is grounds for termination. how is that fact?
it's your opinion. he was gonna wait on FL no matter what. we offer him whatever amount, doesn't change a thing. he was gonna give UF the chance to match, if they wound up calling him.
the only fact here is that he said "thank you for the offer" and he never returned another phone call.
I don't think anyone knows, the timing of all this is horrible. If the investigation results determine Pruitt has to go see will be way behind and likely scramble to fill the vacant position. It's likely to be an underwhelming hire and we are assured to overpay.Come on @LA Vol. It's Christmas time. Give us something. How's this going to play out in the end.
Bingo. Ive been saying that for awhile. He won't be fired before Nov of 22 regardless of next years record. The admin does not give 2 F's about a competitive product. They just want a good bottom line and with COVID its not going to be good regardless of a change. So just gonna throw this out there. If Pruitt is retained, I don’t think they fire him next year. If you’re not going to fire a coach after a 3-8 season, your definitely not firing him if he goes 6-6. So he’ll probably be around till 2022. Jmo based on what the administration has done so far.
He was "gonna wait on FL no matter what" because the offer Tennessee made wasn't anything special to make him not wait for Florida. You're missing my point. I simply said that Tennessee didn't make a serious enough offer (that would have been perceived as "overpaying for Dan Mullen" in the media) that would have forced Mullen to make a decision before Florida and Chip Kelly finished their whole back and forth.
The deal being offered by Tennessee was nothing that Florida wasn't going to offer. Hence why Mullen was going to wait out Florida.
You’re a pioneer. First to ever mention it. How’s that reinventing the wheel so it’ll be rounder project coming along? Not sure what screenname you used to have but I’m sure you were just as interesting.@butchna 79,638 messages since Jan 6, 2013 is roughly 27.5 a day everyday. That's a whole new level of dedication. Not trying to rag on you at all just seriously shocked
Exactly. When I watch my emotion never changes. I dont yell, I dont get excited anymore. I just wait for them to lose.He was competing in those games though. I remember this strange feeling where I experienced a multitude of emotions while watching games from beginning to end. We had a chance to pull off some damn big upsets in his time here.
With Pruitt? I sit down on the couch, feeling numb knowing that we have zero chance to beat anyone of merit, and watch the worst football coach I’ve ever seen call the least creative, intelligent gameplan ive ever seen. The players don’t quit but they also don’t play with any fire.
Dooley wasn’t good but this guy is the pits and has taken away all emotion from UT football. He’s fat and away the worst
I'm so glad! My 8 year old niece took her own money to buy me a Tennessee ornament for Christmas. When I opened it last night the first thing I said was that I am going to put a basketball on it. This while my daddy sat in his AL coat and hat. You know it's bad when I have turned into Catbone! The basketball team is ranked 8th now
