Pruitt and Fulmer sold it as a 5 year rebuild. It was dumb then and its dumb now. But thats what I bet they're pushing now.

Well you are entertaining hiring coaches from the likes of UAB and Louisiana. Not like you're gonna give those guys full range right away. Neither is wrong or right, but I'm surprised guys who have been waiting for a big time job offer like Clark and Napier, turn it down over a "condition" that a solid DC would have to stay.


It ain't like Tennessee in 2010 saying the new coach had to keep some Kiffin holdovers.

Steele may be a dirtbag, but he's good at his job. Surprised all these G5 coaches would say no to him being DC. I get why Sark or Mario and others would. But people have been talking about "if only" guys like Napier And Clark could get a big job offer.

I just think he’s one of the few coaches who truly wants this job considering how much he brags about Neyland Stadium and the state of Tennessee.

He’s not the only coach I’d consider though.

Exactly. It was definitely a 5 year rebuild. And the roster is far better than it was. But you can’t lose every significant game for three years and say it meets expectations. We have plenty of talent to not look like hot dogshit and get blown out by every team with a pulse in year 3.
