To rid yourself of someone who is actively sabotaging a program. There are multiple good coaches out there. There are hundreds who can do the job better than JP.
Hell, Arkansas fired Chad Morris after his 2nd year. There was no talk about a year 0 or building a program. They hired an OL coach and tied UT in wins during his 1st year after 2 winless SEC seasons.
The problem is it’s not one class. This class is average and not good. If next years is worse then we put ourselves two classes back. Sounds just like Butch and it set us back years. One class shouldn't factor in to a decision. I'm not advocating for Pruitt. My biggest fear is if he's retained he wins just enough to not get fired and he gets another year. My only point is if you can't get the guy you want this year, don't hire another Dooley Butch or Pruitt just to do something.
Short game. Play the long game. Butch was better than Pruitt. Just because he's better does not make him the right fit. We need the right fit otherwise we are just hitting rewind every 3 to 4 years.
Well, he is under a five year contract now and here's the kicker, if he's fired without cause, he will receive his entire buyout and it will not be offset by any coaching monies he makes anywhere else.If Fulmer allows Pruitt to replace 4 or 5 coaches, then he is going to give them all two year contracts and promise Pruitt two more years. This would be insanity
The right fit is a guy who wins more than 3 games in year 3. And not just anomalous, close losses. Double digit ass whippings.Short game. Play the long game. Butch was better than Pruitt. Just because he's better does not make him the right fit. We need the right fit otherwise we are just hitting rewind every 3 to 4 years.
Im fine with Gus. 2 NCG game appearances. 3 BCS bowl appearances. Wins over Alabama. Multiple trips to Atlanta. He would be a fine hire.
The issue with Freeze guess much further than Fulmer. Big money and admin is just a much an obstacle with Freeze.@Atlanta VOL seriously why are we not pushing for Freeze? Fulmer can go if he doesn’t want him. He’d win here. Easily.
