Im fine with Gus. 2 NCG game appearances. 3 BCS bowl appearances. Wins over Alabama. Multiple trips to Atlanta. He would be a fine hire.
Still more recently then TN. His teams have also finished ranked 5 out of the 8 seasons he's been there. Is he the perfect hire, No. But he's a lot better than the unproven Chadwell/Napier types.1 NC game appearance as a HC. Can’t count as a coordinator bc Pruitt has been there and won them as a coordinator.
And it was his first season. He’s never come close since then.
Not gonna happen. He will not coach here. They won't even consider him. That's WHEN they fire pruitt. Which won't be this year. Pruitt isn't going anywhere.Freeze is practically waiting for the Tennessee job to open up.
He can’t be any worse than what’s going on right now.
Call him up and set up an agreement already so we can end this madness.
If UT will not look at Freeze, what makes you think they would look at Briles? Both Briles and Freeze are win at all cost guys and UT is not ready to deal with the down side of win at all cost.I want Pruitt gone. He is not the guy, but I don't like our chances of hitting a home run with the next coach.
UT is a good job, but we have sucked for a long time. Our fans expectations are extremely high and we play in the toughest conference in america. Why would any home run coach want to come here?
If it was easy to get a great coach, USCe and auburn would have them already. This is why we need to just hire Freeze. He could be a home run or he could be much better than we've had in years. He would take this job and not embarrass us during this coaching search.
Art briles would be another one I would hire if he is properly vetted. We need a damaged goods coach who needs another chance. We won't get the others on the list or we will be settling for napier or whoever who may or may not work.
If you believe that, we should go hire Steele right now. As dumb as you guys think Auburn is, they didn't spend 22 million dollars to get rid of the reason they win 8 games and keep everyone else.Honestly, hiring a guy who wins 66% of his games for the next 5-6 years is almost a best case scenario at this point. Auburn may have actually just downgraded depending on who they hire.
Mullen taken off the trail? That probation probably did Florida football a favor.

Well considering their track record is a bit 0-4 on new coaching hires for football if the majority are against freeze he’s clearly the man for the job. I don’t want anyone the people who hired Dooley, butch, and Pruitt want. As a matter of fact they ran of Gary Patterson who would have killed it here. Bring me freeze ASAP.The issue with Freeze guess much further than Fulmer. Big money and admin is just a much an obstacle with Freeze.
There are good hires out there, but no great ones that are realistic. Just because they are good hires in theory doesn't make them good fits here. Freeze is mentioned a lot here, I think he would be successful on the field but could be terrible for us in other ways that have been discussed before. So do you actually buy the narrative that there are no good hires available out there? If so, what constitutes a good hire to you?
