What does this even mean? Is it a jab at the fan base? A jab at the admins that it will be an underwhelming hire that will fail? Legit asking because I'm confused on the 20/80 split. 80 percent positive we are having this same conversation would seem to be lack of faith in Fulmer. Because at the end of the day, that 20 percent satisfaction for the fans would go to 80 real quick with the right coach.
I thought that was his source or heard so years ago but I'm not sure. Thats why I'm asking. If he doesn't have faith in the administration in hiring a top coach now, we never will.Aren't he and Fulmer buddies? If so, he is prob mad as hell his buddy about to get kicked out. Prob being petty about the next coach
He's saying the candidate pool if we make a change will not be as good as many fans think it would be.So does he think the product that's been on field the past two seasons is acceptable? He's happy with it? That's what he seems to be saying... wow.
This is the best year to make a move. There are a lot of good candidates. Napier, Freeze, Chadwell, Elliott, or even Brown. Not every year do you have three coaches who would walk here immediately to coach UT. The time is now before those others get picked up by a bigger program.Like I said, I'm not advocating for Pruitt. My stance has been I'm willing to wait another year instead of just hiring anybody instead of Pruitt. I've seen it mentioned by several, "Anyone but Pruitt". I think that's a bad and part of the reason we find ourselves here. Anybody but Pruitt is not a strategy. It's rolling the dice just like we've been doing for the last three hires.
Take your time, get it right. If it means another year of Pruitt, so be it. If we can land a tier one coach this year, do it now. If we can't, use another year and work it. A lot of things change in a year. Coaches we like now may not be coaches we like next year. Coaches we like now that we still have doubts about, may erase those doubts. I don't think hiring coaches is all that different than recruiting. It takes time to build relationships. It's tough to build relationships in 2-3 weeks. If Fulmer gets the axe, what coach is going to come here not knowing who his boss is? I doubt many.
because they don't want it to be good, lmao. He's saying the candidate pool if we make a change will not be as good as many fans think it would be.
Which, ya know, I've been getting killed for here for weeks lol
