If anyone is interested in the contracts of coaches etc. I feel like if the 3 that expire are allowed to expire/leave that's the writing on the wall. Also if some of these names that have another year move on to new jobs this off-season it's more evidence that Pruitt's tenure will be ending. Ultimately if you mitigate staff buyout through natural attrition (contracts expiring, taking new offers, etc.) then you're now only asking boosters to foot the bill specifically to get rid of Pruitt, something that'll be easier to swallow imo.

Executive and Coaching Contracts - The University of Tennessee System

Pruitt: 01/31/2024
Chaney: 01/31/2022
Friend: 01/31/2021
Graham: 01/31/2022
Martin: 01/31/2021
Osovet: 01/31/2022
Weinke: 01/31/2022
Ansley: 01/31/2022

No that’s absolutely correct. That’s why i said in a previous post it’s impossible to know why or who is making that call.

I find that baffling. If your defense is constantly lost and struggling to cover, I would think going more man would be easier to teach and execute.

This defense looks so different than even last year. Where are those edge blitzes?

Because there isn’t one good reason to keep him.
I think there is a good reason and it has to do with his contract. This entire deal could run between $20 and $30 million for buyouts and replacements. That's a lot of money in this economy, even for the wealthy.

I just hate hearing multiple times after every game "we were probably in the right call there, but they just made a play" after they give up a 3rd and long or a td. When you hear that every game its so frustrating. Who's job is it to make sure that the players are where they're supposed to be, again?
I have not rewatched any of our games or been assigned any as of yet but it looks to me that the majority of our issues are alignment based. We haven’t had that many just absolute blown coverages this year outside of the big auburn play. When a team is routinely getting picked on by things like inside slants, flat/wheel routes, or balls up the seam... it’s alignment. Florida’s entire gameplan was that and it was last year.

How much does UT lose by keeping a lame duck coach? A lot.

Going to Bandon in April for the first time. Playing 36 a day for 5 days and can't wait.

Excited to see Sheep Ranch, but I hear great things about Pacific Dunes from people who have been.

Just wish it was not so difficult logistically to get there for the south.
I’ve been several times and people will ask which course is the best. My reply is whichever one I’m playing. They all have attributes that make them unique and great. It’s amazing to have that many holes and I don’t think there is a bad hole from architecture perspective.

I think you can point to the huge gap left by Darrell Taylor. He was double teamed very often last year and we loved to blitz off his hip specifically out of the slot.

still though. A highly touted DC as your head coach. Current DC knows his system. And players that have been in the system for 2 years now. No progression at all. There shouldn’t be Basic errors like this.

Preaching to the choir. It doesn’t add up. Especially in the secondary. That was our most experienced and talented returning unit.

The edge blitzes have been there they just don’t get home. I bet we ran 5-8 of them against A&M and they were picked up every single time.

@Ron Swanson,

Wouldn’t have made some sense to fight to keep Friend if Pruitt were coming back? Hes had the same resume for the last couple years so a renewal shouldn’t have been out of question.
