I tried and tried. I am from Warner Robins, GA. Knew some inside information from Pruitt’s time on Richt’s staff. I can now say, I told you so. I was hoping he had learned/matured since that time but, again, a leopard can’t change its spots.
Are the Demons going to get it done vs Cartersville?

This is an interesting take. It’s hard for me to understand why we are playing so much zone when it’s clear the defense is confused and struggling with it.

Meanwhile, that coaching clinic vid of Pruitt and his “split safety coverages” seemed all man-coverages broken down into “if/then” statements about who covers who based on alignments.
I think Pruitt is a gambler by trade on defense and has been able to rely on heavy on a talent advantage even dating back to his high school days..... it’s really easy to design and come up with these exotic blitzes and rolling coverages that he’s known for when you can consistently generate a pass rush by sending 3 or 4 guys.

IMO, part of the reason Phil is so dug in on Pruitt, he sees himself in Pruitt and really believes Pruitt can be the "legend" Phil sees himself as..
I think Fulmer feels this is still his program and can control Pruitt so he feels like he is still the head man at UT. No matter the record, he is in charge and above everyone else. IMO

Hopefully Friend leaving is the indicator for Pruitt's fate. He makes $800,000 per year which ranked 2nd among offensive line coaches when Pittman was at Georgia. Is South Carolina willing to pay him more than that to be their oline coach? Or is this Friend bailing before the hammer drops on his soon to be former boss? I know he has a strong relationship with Bobo but I'm hoping for the latter.

Anyone catch Swain saying this morning that Pruitt is calling parents to let him know he has the support of the admin & will still be coaching next year? RIP HUGHMORS
What is he supposed to say? I’m sure these parents are worried since their child signed with him. He has to say he has support and he will be there. He has their support until he doesn’t have their support.

If that were true, the AD would have announced it and we’d be in full assistant coach replacement discussion mode.

If he was fired and on his way out to do think he would be calling recruits at all?

After the mess in 2017 and what’s happening now behind the scenes with the power struggle let’s all hope there’s not a “search” and just a couple of announcements. “Pruitt is fired.” “This is the new guy, everyone give him a warm welcome!”
This may be a dumb question but a serious question, doesn't UT have to post that job opening before just hiring someone?

But isn’t there a noticeable shift from more man to zone? Or am I just off base in my assessment?

I’m not as plugged in as I once was. I now live in Knoxville. I thought the Demons were gonna do it last year but oh well. Close. Given the subject at hand, I’m surprised that Callaway never spoke up but he may not have really known about Pruitt since he was an offensive player. I went to school with the big 3 - James Brooks, Jimmy Womack and Ron Simmons. We won 2 national championships while I was there. Coach Davis just passed away - now that was a great coach.

Pacific is great. Best views (other than sheep ranch)

Old Mac is a beast especially if the weather is bad but the views are unreal. They are eventually allowing all the greens to turn to Poa annua which is what Old Mac is...

Bandon is the classic and probably the most fun. Wide fairways with signatures holes everywhere.

Trails is good but it goes away from the coast so we began avoiding it 2 years ago simply because we all want to play along the water as much as possible. Play it once but stick to Pacific and Bandon as much as possible. It’s the hardest to walk as well.

The most fun you’ll have is on Perserve, the par 3 course. We always play it after a round in the afternoon. We make up games, use each other’s clubs, call our shots, etc... It’s the most fun you’ll have with the boys.

McKeys is the best restaurant. Get the uncle Larry’s burger to begin with. The wings are the best you’ll find and you have to try the Scottish eggs at least one night. Ask them for the pecan pie with ice cream but before they bring it, ask them to heat it up first. Unreal. Also, the best coffee on the planet... make sure you take a bag or 2 from your room home with you.

Anything else you need, let me know.
Oh my gosh. It’s on my list. Can’t wait to go.

No that’s absolutely correct. That’s why i said in a previous post it’s impossible to know why or who is making that call.

I just hate hearing multiple times after every game "we were probably in the right call there, but they just made a play" after they give up a 3rd and long or a td. When you hear that every game its so frustrating. Who's job is it to make sure that the players are where they're supposed to be, again?
