So maybe Ansley has more of a zone based philosophy and that’s where more zone is coming from or maybe they don’t trust our DL to generate any pressure on their own... which i can’t blame them but it’s their fault they haven’t found a playmaker there in 3 classes.

This is an interesting take. It’s hard for me to understand why we are playing so much zone when it’s clear the defense is confused and struggling with it.

Meanwhile, that coaching clinic vid of Pruitt and his “split safety coverages” seemed all man-coverages broken down into “if/then” statements about who covers who based on alignments.

As long as Freeze is in the coaching game, he will have to live with the negative side of recruiting. Opposing coaches will be talking to mama and papa about what kind of person he is off the field and then show them the proof. It doesn't matter if he's finally found the lord, his past will always play a part in recruiting. The guy is a great offensive football mind but he also may still have burner phones :cool::cool::cool:

Honestly starting to wonder if 2019 was a fluke with our record. I mean we lost to Georgia State & we barely beat a Miss St team with a lame duck coach, beat a historically bad Vandy team only by 18 and only beat Kentucky because of a great play on the goal line. We couldve easily lost to UK, Miss St & Mizzou if it weren't for one lucky break.

I saw that Pruitt grades out at a 0.94, F+, as a head coach thus far. TLDR; Fire him, hire Freeze.

Even if we promoted within and gave anyone else a shot at OC and just brought in another person to recruit it would make more sense. Chaney is literally just taking up space at this point.

He doesn't even recruit the qbs he calls plays for. Pruitt recruited Baliey and weinke recruited Shrout maybe there was a reason kiffin didn't let Chaney call plays

This is exactly why I tend to not say things I know or have heard..... I know two people that is/was around the sports teams at UT...... One..... was the chef who got fired for an argument with Pruitt so that opinion I shared may be a tad biased..... The other one is a manager type thing inside the sports program..... he gives me little bits of info from time to time..... most of the time spot on and a few times they turned out to be rumors....

I used to live in Rainsville, AL for awhile. Knowing the Sand Mountain culture makes this really easy to believe.

I tried and tried. I am from Warner Robins, GA. Knew some inside information from Pruitt’s time on Richt’s staff. I can now say, I told you so. I was hoping he had learned/matured since that time but, again, a leopard can’t change its spots.

IMO, part of the reason Phil is so dug in on Pruitt, he sees himself in Pruitt and really believes Pruitt can be the "legend" Phil sees himself as..

But the exact same could be said about the record this year....if JG doesn't go full JG against Kentucky and Auburn or he doesn't get hurt against Ark (he was good for one decent game a year and that was probably it) Tennessee could've just as easily beat them. If that's the case then the team is sitting here 6-4 and the hot seat isn't NEAR as hot as it is now.

With all of that being said, if "if's and but's were candies and nuts we'd all have a Merry Christmas".....and, so, here we are.

With respect to the personality things and those who feel that isn't relevant to firing...right, it isn't. But when your performance is as bad as his and you are a horrible human, folks aren't inclined to offer you the grace they might offer to a nicer person. And rightfully so.

Mark Richt has a bad year, I'd vote to keep him one more. Gump has a bad year, I vote to return him to the land of his youth.
