I don’t know but our defense was clearly improved under Pruitt in 2019. Don’t know what the problem was this year

Lack of on-field leadership and buy-in. 2019 has warrior, butili and taylor for the respective levels. They could at least get everyone lined up correctly. This year no leadership (outside of HT) and no one knew their roles. How often was the D scrambling to get lined up properly and still haven't learned to defense a slant. Not hard to teach to line up on the inside shoulder however that does give away the outside and deep give how poorly the cb's played.

Yep. The biggest thing I dislike about the playoff is how it de-emphasizes the major bowl games. A lot has been written/said about it, but that was a big part of what made CFB special. Now the season is viewed as a failure for many teams even if they win the Rose Bowl or whatever but don't make the playoff, or if they win it and it's the semi-finals of the playoff and then they lose in the championship game.
