Depends on how well they can keep cheating after he leaves. The fact they haven't been slammed by now is sickening. And by the way, I am less impressed with Saban's national titles and games won than I am with how well he cheats and gets away with it.

It's high past time we demand they move the SEC offices out of Alabama.

I said this in a text exchange yesterday. As long as the SEC offices are in Birmingham and staffed by Bama folks, they will be able to bend the political economy of college football in their favor. Same with Auburn. You can’t tell me that we are worse and more obvious than they are, especially when we have their former coaches doing probably exactly what they did in Bama. Hell, Jeremy and the boys might be be shocked to find there are actually rules they have to abide by!

I am confused at how we've been told Fulmer isn't running this, he's not making the hire, and he will be told who the hire is gonna be.

Yet, it's Marrone?

To highlight even further that we need a new offensive philosophy.

i get why WE think why. but really, aside from stuff that we've just made up on twitter and message boards, why do they need to make anything public?

they have a coach. they need to go public with a statement "we still have a coach"?

we've worked ourselves up in to a tissy the past 2 months, have already started and completed, i think 3 searches, and have fired 2 that we never interviewed for a job that has yet to actually exist for anyone other than pruitt..

lol.

Incompetence is why. When you have mouthpieces for the Vols saying fan rumors are the reason we are having transfers, Chris Low reports we are on a hiring freeze on ESPN, and a months long investigation is going you need to address it publicly. If they've decided he's staying, it should be announced to squash the rumors. They are incompetent, and they have no excuse for it.

For those that listen to AP trying to convince you that the fans at UT are the problem, here are some bullet points from the OSU board this morning that I cleaned up to make PG, because that is a cesspool of filth at the moment for a team that just played for a Natty. Any of these sound familiar? Probably not because UT is the only fan base where FANS are sometimes unreasonable.

I just hope their recruits don't read the message boards, maybe they will decide not to go there when they read it.

Ryan Day playing not to lose. Will never win big here.
Ryan Day looks like. (Many mean descriptions of his physical appearance)
Ryan Day spends too much time with offense
Ryan Day needs to hire a OC to be able to evaluate entire team.
Our DC needs fired
Players are soft
Culture is soft with Ryan Day
Master Teague is awful with no vision. We should have never offered him, filled with other backs they should have.
Fields will be another OSU qb that fails in the NFL.
Fields should come back because he sucks at reading coverage.
Wade is a 6th round pick, just awful
Recruiting top players but not developing them.

they still don't have to do anything. nothing has changed. the only thing that has been announced, are those things that have changed.

so...it is what it is. they don't owe a public statement on retaining a coach. "we mad" isn't a reason to do that. if something changes that warrants a statement, they'll make one.

until then.....be mad.

I'm not mad, I'm indifferent. I've seen them be a laughing stock for over a decade. When you are a primary story on ESPN and the SEC Network due to being in a hiring freeze and large investigation, the AD should come out and make a statement if a decision has been made. Don't get high and mighty with the fans for being upset about being left in limbo. Hell, from player statements it seems they feel the same way. Not sure how you can defend any part of this administration.

Fast forward to 3 minutes and listen to Doug sell bologna sandwhiches. Tell me this mf couldn’t recruit here.

Yeah I can actually picture him in the living room with mamma and dad convincing them their son needs to come to UT... Pretty charismatic... good balance of player's coach and hard nose when he needs to be... this could work if he's up for the challenge of recruiting and only if the staff is really good.

What's your point?

Then when they are moved to Atlanta, we'll complain they are staffed with too many UGA grads. And even if the office moved, what would prevent them from hiring Alabama people anyway?

I know the SEC offices are in Birmingham, but are the people who are actually involved with enforcement of the rules/decision-makers overly populated with Alabama grads? I don't mean the receptionist who answers the phone; I mean people for example on this page:

SEC Office Staff Directory

Does 99% of the "Alabama controls the SEC office" thing come from the fact that Mark Womack (associate commish/CFO) is from Tuscaloosa and a Bama grad? A quick Google search doesn't seem to indicate that any of the other senior people went to Alabama.

Someone help me out. In looking at Marrone’s resume, it doesn’t look impressive at all. He has bounced around a good bit. A couple of years at GA Tech, a year at Georgia, a year at Tennessee and so on. His NFL job successes (especially the Jags) look abysmal. So, what is the reason to be so high on him?
