Someone help me out. In looking at Marrone’s resume, it doesn’t look impressive at all. He has bounced around a good bit. A couple of years at GA Tech, a year at Georgia, a year at Tennessee and so on. His NFL job successes (especially the Jags) look abysmal. So, what is the reason to be so high on him?

Because we can get him from the bargain bin. It's the Tennessee way.

For those that listen to AP trying to convince you that the fans at UT are the problem, here are some bullet points from the OSU board this morning that I cleaned up to make PG, because that is a cesspool of filth at the moment for a team that just played for a Natty. Any of these sound familiar? Probably not because UT is the only fan base where FANS are sometimes unreasonable.

I just hope their recruits don't read the message boards, maybe they will decide not to go there when they read it.

Ryan Day playing not to lose. Will never win big here.
Ryan Day looks like. (Many mean descriptions of his physical appearance)
Ryan Day spends too much time with offense
Ryan Day needs to hire a OC to be able to evaluate entire team.
Our DC needs fired
Players are soft
Culture is soft with Ryan Day
Master Teague is awful with no vision. We should have never offered him, filled with other backs they should have.
Fields will be another OSU qb that fails in the NFL.
Fields should come back because he sucks at reading coverage.
Wade is a 6th round pick, just awful
Recruiting top players but not developing them.
That will be VN after we lose a big game...no matter who the coach is.

I'm not the biggest Marrone guy on here , but going to the AFC Championship game with Blake Bortles as your quarterback is far from abysmal

Then when they are moved to Atlanta, we'll complain they are staffed with too many UGA grads. And even if the office moved, what would prevent them from hiring Alabama people anyway?

I know the SEC offices are in Birmingham, but are the people who are actually involved with enforcement of the rules/decision-makers overly populated with Alabama grads? I don't mean the receptionist who answers the phone; I mean people for example on this page:

SEC Office Staff Directory

Does 99% of the "Alabama controls the SEC office" thing come from the fact that Mark Womack (associate commish/CFO) is from Tuscaloosa and a Bama grad? A quick Google search doesn't seem to indicate that any of the other senior people went to Alabama.

Going through that last and looking at education and political employment would be a pretty interesting social network analysis.

Ole Miss tried Freeze. Frankly I don't think Freeze is the coach that a lot of people on here are making him. I mean some are making him it to this elite coach and there is really no justifcation for it. He was an average coach at Ole Miss who had one really good season. Then toss in the baggage. He is the new Gruden.

Freeze has had 10 win seasons at 4 different college jobs.

Guy on VQ (ChadwellQuest) saying this guy is transferring back closer to home (KY) and that we’ve reached out to him. Thinks we could be a player. FWIW
Would be a big time addition...if we have a new coaching staff that knows how to use pass catching RBs

Why does it seem like the whole narrative, 'We've got to see what comes of this investigation to determine Pruitt's fate' overshadowing his poor record as a head coach? For some it appears that if he gets clear of major wrongdoings, then all is well and that couldn't be farther from the truth.

A bit depressing so far with the cornbread, bologna, and nowhere opportunity. JMO...

We are not going to pound people into submission if Bama doesn't even do it. They adapted and are this year's version of last year's LSU. Great, wide open O with adequate D. That's how its done. If Steele comes in some capacity it is likely to help build an adequate D against those kind of O's since he has been doing it for years. It takes an explosive O for winning at a high level today. Mac Jones has the arm to get it done, but most importantly, the brain to process what he saw and get it done. Just like Burrow (who is better and more mobile), they process what they see quickly and know where the key guys will be.

We are not going to out athlete Bama, LSU, UGA, UF, and aTm anytime soon no matter the system. So we win more by out scheming the average team and become more competitive against the better ones until the roster and system are completely built. Freeze ain't happening. Chadwell can bring the O that is unique and adaptable to current passing schemes over time as the roster improves. Some of the motion Sark was using last night to get WR's open on the edge works with RB's and WR's in Chadwell's scheme. With Hooker and Salter they will have two guys that can run it and will be happy to see it. Study what he does more and your eyes may open about it.

Let's do this. Going retread will mean more of the same and being dependent on quality coordinator hires on both sides of the ball instead of just one side. I could see Herman if he's humbled himself some. Unless there is an unknown out there willing to. jump into this mess, there's just not a lot out there that brings the exciting O with the ability to also excite the recruits in the living room other than Chadwell IMO.
