One had a better than average SEC roster and lost to less talented SEC teams. The other had the least talented talented NFL roster in recent memory and was asked to box with one hand tied behind his back. What you are doing is essentially comparing a grape to a tomato.
So you're admitting he is a coach that is reliant on talent and that his offensive & defensive schemes can't work based solely on the Xs and Os? Sounds like a ringing endorsement for a guy who was known at Syracuse as someone who didn't like to recruit and quit on the Bills in 2014 because he was scared of getting fired. Seriously, I hope this is a joke. Do you really believe this? Serious question. The timeline is now starting to become very clear.
Tuesday: Fulmer and Admin have Steele in place today with no current title assigned to him.
Thursday: Pruitt will have his final meeting with admin.
Friday/Saturday They agree to a negotiated buyout and Pruitt is sent on his way.
Sunday: Steele named interim head coach. Focus's on calming our current and incoming roster down over the phones.
Monday: Students start to report back to school for classes on Wednesday. Team meeting
Beyond that, not sure if this is an active coaching search or Steele is named head coach.
That literally means nothing. College success, which Marrone didn't have, doesnt mean anything in the NFL. Here are some examples!
Rich Brooks spent 17 years as Oregon's HC and won a conference championship. NFL Record: 13-19
Butch Davis spent 6 years at Miami dominating the game. NFL Record: ONE winning season in 4 years
Lou Holtz of Notre Dame fame. NFL Record: 3-10 before he just quit on his team and resigned
John McKay spent years as USC's HC, winning multiple titles. NFL Record: lost his first 26 games.
Bobby Petrino of Louisville (and my alma mater WKU!) fame. NFL Record: We know what happened here, quit on the Falcons.
Nick Saban kicked ass everywhere, went to the Dolphins and sucked, now he is the GOAT in CFB.
Yall trying to convince yourselves Marrone is a good hire need to get real
I wouldn't go that far. But we need a stable football CEO so we can position ourselves for a great hire down the road. Marrone is more than capable of doing this for us.Marrone is the greatest coach that has ever lived. He is just a victim of circumstance. Hopefully we can nab him before everyone else finds out.
In the NFL no one can scheme wins with zero elite talent. You must know better than that, I wouldn't think anyone was that dense. Delusional fanbase.
Marrone is hypothetically leaving the NFL. He's been in the NFL for over a decade. Why are you speculating how he will do in the NFL?That literally means nothing. College success, which Marrone didn't have, doesnt mean anything in the NFL. Here are some examples!

You're cherry picking. At the end of the day you are what your record says.
25-25 in college (.500)
38-60 in NFL (.388)
63-85 overall (.426)
Yes - that is better than Pruitt. But are those the expectations now? If so, just pack it up and cancel the program.
