Syracuse: 25-25

Nick Saban prior to LSU: 48-16

Saban had a National Championship under his belt before he accepted an NFL job.

It’s not even close to being the same in terms of being “successful”

It’s really shortsighted to just look at records. I don’t understand why posters can’t understand that winning at some places is easier than others.

let me help you here.

If vandys coach goes 6-6 next year he did one hell of a lot better job than if Nick Saban goes 8-4.

It’s really not hard folks

I believe I read where Steele had a total buyout due of $5 million from Auburn, not sure but I thought that is what I read. With Ansley still being on the staff currently as the DC, I would think right now that Coach Steele would come on the staff as a defensive analyst, etc..? I don't see him coming here as the DL coach or LB coach, etc.. At the present time and until otherwise, Pruitt is the head football coach, and not that I agree he should be, I feel he should be let go no matter what the results of the investigation turn out to be, but I suppose it's pretty obvious that UT doesn't want to payout any more buyout money for firing coaches, etc..

you are looking at overall records and not tying them to any kind of context what so ever. so here I’ll play along.

Mr. football coach:
College 1: 27-13
College 2: 23-14
College 3: 34-27
84-54 overall
4-2 bowl games
4 conference titles.

Better winning % than: Fleck, Leach, sarkisian, pat fitzgerald, Herm Edwards, Narduzzi, Chadwell, Tom Allen, cut life, cristobal...... etc.

Checks all the boxes, proven winner.... you hiring butch Jones again?
Butch did beat Marrone’s supposed awesome Syracuse team in 2012, which is the year ’Cuse went 7-5 in the regular season and shared the Big East title with 3 other teams.

I don't tweet.

Note sure who said it was awesome. Just way above average for that program for the last 22 years.

you 'member pete before he went to USC? he was an NFL retread w/no future. flamed out at NYJ and NE....complete bust in the NFL.
Complete bust? He was 33-31 overall and 27-21 in his 3-year stint with the Pats. He wasn't great, but a complete bust is quite an exaggeration.
