Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

Before Bruin comes after me, I just want to make it clear I am paraphrasing a long conversation on the VQ pod (that I finally figured out how to listen to) and they said it doesn’t make sense for Steele to take this job if Pruitt is in limbo. "Which we all agree he is."

“The fact that it’s Tennessee, it’s his school and he would like to help fix it is the only reason he is here.”
Maybe Steele can talk the powers that be into hiring Freeze???

Dud he once spit dip at you or something? You have a personal problem with him and you always have. That's why your opinion of Pruitt holds zero weight with me.

i call it bs when i see it. You chose to ignore red flags and blame it on the “quitters and soft players” that he inherited instead of him and his staff.

So there's been at least 2 assistant coaches hired this week and JP is allegedly a dead man walking? I'm wavering on JP being a goner and I'm beginning to think he's not getting fired. I don't want to think like that. Is my BVS acting up, are we really keeping Pruitt!?!

ya, this is a bad take.

he isn't a bad coach - bad head coach, sure.

He has had success everywhere he has been - not just bama under saban.
He also has never coached anywhere, even at the HS level, that had inferior or even average talent. He's always been able to slot in at loaded programs and coach squads of the best players.

Now, that isn't to say he's totally without skills. Even if you're given great ingredients and a great recipe, it still takes skill to cook the meal. But I'd be more impressed with his defensive coaching abilities if he had, at some point in his past, taken over a bad defense and made them better. Either by helping recruit better talent, or coaching guys up, or both. He's always been slotted into coaching a defense that was already really good, with a bunch of elite players already on the roster.

Being a chef that only has experience working in the finest restaurants with the best ingredients, recipes, and people hasn't served him well at a greasy spoon like Tennessee.

He wasn’t all that successful at Georgia. He was DC for one year at FSU with one of the most talented teams we’ve ever seen partly due to the defensive players that mark stoops had in place.

He’s never had to develop anyone or create a scheme until now and it’s showing that he’s clueless.

We don’t have to agree. The tape doesn’t lie. We literally cannot lineup correctly in year 3.

you’re listening with your heart and not your head.
I don’t care what they say and I don’t care if they say something about Tennessee or anything that I don’t agree with.... I don’t get upset with our local media states something that I don’t agree with..... I was just saying in general most analysts are FOS.

I imagine we will begin to hear some of the basic details of the investigations findings in the coming hours. If they are as bad as some here have let on I'd suggest everyone grab your favorite Bourbon or Scotch on the way home.

FCS QB that put up big numbers in 2019. Auburn and South Carolina offered. His WR was offered too. The WR is 6'7" 230lbs

Go make it a damn priority and get that WR!!! But don't give him a CC for a strip club... You can use my Marriott points for unofficial visits for hotels....
