It’s totally different in terms of what they are asking the QBs to do and the run game. Run game was much more downhill with Helton with a little more misdirection. Passing game called for much more screens on the outside and alerts. Helton used the slot (Jennings) for more of a chain mover abs volume WR. Chaney likes to use it to stretch the field particularly with Hyatt.
Do you think we will break top 100 total offense next year?

Okay, what do you think the reasoning was for getting rid of Davenport?
Stated that she was continually unprepared and awkward in public speaking. We know no it was because she crossed the Haslams, but she made it easier. Boyd isn’t a lap puppet like Dipietro tho.

Booster politics connected to state politics after telling the Haslams no. It also makes me wonder if she hadn’t already made some poor political decisions and there was more to it than just football.

I don’t know, man. Maybe you’re right and Tennessee is different than other SEC schools, but I just have a hard time seeing it. The status quo is a safer path for admin as long as the books are balanced, enrollment is steady, and they are bringing in research dollars.

That’s four people who are tired of UT being an embarrassing heap of garbage. Sorry we don’t settle for mediocrity. I bet your room is filled with participation trophies.

I’m anything but happy with the current state of our football program. But unlike many of you self proclaimed BJs (boy geniuses in Jethro Bodine slang), I do not have a simple fire em all solution. The program has more problems that JP and PF. I freely admit I do not know what needs to be done. I’m smart enough to know what I don’t know.
But I know a know it all when I see one. And I’ve never cottoned to the type either here in social media fantasy land or in real life.
Keep crowing roosters......you de man🤪🐓

what scheme makes JG better that they should have used?

i'll wait.
I’m not sure. I don’t have much of a FB background. However we do have one of the highest paid coordinators in the country who I wish could’ve figured something out.

Given that he was the coordinator at UGA for the short lived Justin Fields era, I don’t have much confidence.

This was a comfort hire for Pruitt.

I can assure you that A LOT of schools in the SEC have kids who make it 3 years or graduate who are on a middle/high school reading and understanding level. Just the nature of the beast. @Atlanta VOL has alluded to us missing out on a couple of guys because of this. That doesn't happen at Alabama. They see the money that has been rolling in for 10 years and look the other way every now and again. Just a winning at all cost mindset.

Every university has “a way” that manages to do it, probably via disability services. The point is that “the way” is above board, not knowingly skirting the rules that could affect accreditation.

Had to cancel trip to Emerald Bay, Bahamas in March. Thinking of going to Destin, never been. Is the first of March a good time to go? Best places to stay?
I love me some Bahamas, especially off the beaten path. My uncle owns a house on a remote out island. It's stunning. We love to visit. Problem is getting there. Have to charter a plane to get there. It's truly a paradise.

did we though?

do we remember exactly how that USCe game went for us? w/out a pick 6 and a muffed punt to end the game....we might be 2-8. if Mizzou had figured out the QB on the bench was better than the guy they trotted out in our game, do you think we beat THAT mizzou team?

i'm glad we won both of those games, but i don't recall everyone talking about how bad azz we were at the time. there was hope. there was opportunity....but at best, i think 'cautiously optimistic' was the tone....there were warts. and no one....no one...was confident that the QB spot was good enough yet. he was not good in the USCe game, he was better against Mizzou...but no one was talking about JG being good.

Nobody said that because it was painfully obvious on Saturdays.

Constantly beat on the back end with 2 allegedly we’ll known coaches coaching them.

No push from the OL and they should have been better on talent alone.

I’m not arguing the QB position.

And last but certainly not least the LBs.
Can’t cover
And regressed playing the run.

I think a big part of USCe problem was they took on the over confidence of the at the time HC. Just my opinion.

I've heard a lot of people here say "why cant we have nice things". Well, I say why cant we have a dislike button here. :p
They have one and I believe it's called "ignore". Just put the curser over the posters name and scroll down and click on ignore. Done and done

possible.

glad we got 'em early. :)

but i don't buy this notion that we were awesome at first, then really regressed after.

the truth is, if not for timing in the schedule, and a couple of plays against USCe......yikes....

like i said, was glad we won those games, but i'd be lying if i said i thought we had "arrived" at the end of the mizzou game.....we had lots of warts.

I don’t think anybody would say we were ever awesome this year, but we 100% regressed from serviceable in most areas to whatever is worse than bad.

We've not utilized him well enough and I have this sinking feeling that someday we are going to look back and regret not giving him a chance.
I’m not doubting that he’s a smart dude. He’s obviously climbed a ladder. I think he’s become a bit of an urban legend at this point around here tho.
