We are WAY beyond message board rumors that don’t need to be addressed. All the major media outlets are speculating on it, even Mr. Cautious, Chris Freakin’ Low is openly saying it will be hard for Pruitt to come back next year, and you can bet it is being used against us in recruiting. But sure, just pretend it’s not happening, and everyone will just forget about it.
where do you think the media outlets are getting their info? lol.

what are they "reporting" on? really?

they're reporting on the same speculation and innuendo that we're losing our minds over here.

no one is pretending anything...oh wait, yes we are...we've been pretending we're in the middle of a coaching search for going on 3 months now..........................................

lol.

Nice language there snoop dog.......makes you look so so tough tripleredd. I will crown you winner of the Internet today. Congratulations. Enjoy the warm snuggly embrace of your social convention. But please make sure you wear a hat...a head like yours needs protection.
And I am anything but a loser in real life

AD is more than just football.
Order would be
Ingram
Blackburn but he’s been blackballed but should be called
Love Davis and think he could run football and be a GM but need to know more as far as AD. But he would be better than what we have now.
Davis was asst. AD at Stanford so he is familiar with workings of functional athletic department. Think Stanford typically is in the top 10 when considering the results of all sports.

A chancellor isnt going to get fired if she follows the rules, and the football program suffers as a result. A chancellor can get fired if they knowingly skirt the rules in order to have a successful program.

Universities are, at their heart, risk averse institutions.

Right. UT is generally conservative. But hiring outside counsel was an elective. It puts you on a different path.

very well said. Another thing that has been said on here that I agree with is that for half the year for Bailey to learn the offense, but on field it looks pretty simple.

Offense is the name of the game right now. Teams are able to score a lot of points, and do so quickly. Tennessee of course being an exception. It also seems as though many of the good offensive minds can take what they have and create ways to score points. Look at what Kiffin did last year. I highly doubt that was his dream QB but he made it work. I didn’t think much of Felipe Franks either, but Mullen took him and went right to work at Florida. This is why I don’t fully buy the JG excuse, although he wasn’t good.

This is the reason I think Pruitt has to go. Not only are they losing games, but the game is offensively trending at the moment and Tennessee just seems years behind. Because of this they’re also boring to watch in addition to being mediocre. If they were losing shootouts like the 2012 Dooley team or a lot of teams now I could see reason for bringing Pruitt back. That’s just not the case. Speaking of 2012, I think people make that appear to be much more normal for Chaney when it was honestly an outlier. I don’t think he’s terrible, but I think the game has passed him by somewhat.
what scheme makes JG better that they should have used?

i'll wait.

Straighten him out, 81. Buddy needs some help.

did we though?

do we remember exactly how that USCe game went for us? w/out a pick 6 and a muffed punt to end the game....we might be 2-8. if Mizzou had figured out the QB on the bench was better than the guy they trotted out in our game, do you think we beat THAT mizzou team?

i'm glad we won both of those games, but i don't recall everyone talking about how bad azz we were at the time. there was hope. there was opportunity....but at best, i think 'cautiously optimistic' was the tone....there were warts. and no one....no one...was confident that the QB spot was good enough yet. he was not good in the USCe game, he was better against Mizzou...but no one was talking about JG being good.
So basically lost the will to fight like we had to win the 8 straight after the GA game.

maybe, but i don't think effort was an issue, most of the time. i think if they had given up or quit, we'd of seen that play out in the Vandy game, and that didn't happen.

i just think we were what we were from the start of the season to the end....just not a very good team. and against the teams that didn't make mistakes against us, the games played out probably like they should have....

A better QB and the ability to open things up will make a difference-- how much, TBD. This endless controversy and hatred originated with Pruitt's blind allegiance to JG and snowballed with the losing. Factor in the investigation and fans clamoring for Freeze, and it became an avalanche.

JG giftwrapping the game to UK and Pruitt's tone deafness tipped the scale.
Don't remember who, but someone said we would be 8-2 with Dobbs.

Ina season where we lost 7 games, all by double digits. That is an insane claim. They should lock you up for being a danger to yourself and others for saying stuff like that.

It's always QB play. The never ending fountain of hope. I'm old enough to remember being told the reason we didn't win the SEC in 2016 was because of Dobbs, and Dormady was going to open up our passing game in a big way.

Pruitt has played 5 QBs since he's been here. They have all been bad. Running Chaney's offense he got off the wall at Cracker Barrel. Changing QBs just means less than nothing at this point.

I don't hate Pruitt, I just have zero confidence in him being able to turn this around. I'm not even angry at him anymore. For me, it's like the JG situation. When JG made mistakes, I was angry at him in the moment, but I was more angry at Pruitt for continuing to put him out there. I was angry at Pruitt during the season when we kept losing, but now that the season is over, I'm angry at Fulmer and Boyd and Plowman for continuing to put Pruitt out there. Pruitt is what he is. It's up to his superiors to recognize that and make a change for the better, but they're not going to do that. I can't be mad at Pruitt for their failure.

JMO.
The media is running with what they think should happen based on what they know. That is very little and where there is a hole in facts they run with their opinion of what they as best they can.

The fans are running on what they want to happen and they use the medias small amount of facts and opinion to convince themselves the outcome has already been decided.
There's nothing suggesting that is true. But, UT hasn't ended the speculation yet either.

I'm convinced Chaney watches tik tok during practice.. and in games.. I mean he doesn't recruit either soooo

Hell yeah! This thread is wild as hell today!
