He would be a little down the list, but I think Justin Wilcox would do well here. He was a really good DC for us with very little talent on that team. He was supposed to have a breakout year at Cal this season, but covid derailed all that and they only played 4 games.

It would be awfully stupid if we hired Steele and didn’t already discuss this with some potential head coaches to be sure they would be ok with it. If we hired Steele and we are going to force him onto the next coach, that would also be insanely stupid. Only logical explanation is they hired Steele to be the head coach (Lord please don’t let this be true) or they already know who they are targeting for head coach and they approved of it. If not, we will be lucky to land UTC’s head coach.

I honestly don't know what to make of his brief PSU tenure. I suppose it is something that people expected them to be something like 2-10 for years but instead they won 7, 8 games. However he was always kind of understood to be there as a temporary, short-term transitional candidate.

Agree on Steele. If they put him in, that’s a minor victory for Fulmer. And I don’t think the people in charge over there right now will allow that.

You don’t have a interview with a local news outlet claiming you’re only going to hire a winner and that this isn’t a place for try outs to bring out Steele... Unless you want to look like a even bigger dysfunctional embarrassment. The Steele narrative is being pushed by the fans who are afraid of it happening. Media outlets are pushing it for clicks but at this current moment there is nothing to back it up. Again, Boyd and Plowman made the plan clear and nothing about that plan screams Steele to me.
