It wasn’t done because of the buyout. It was to get Fulmer out.We are idiots for causing this mess. Only at Tennessee do we self investigate to get rid of our coach to avoid a buyout. When has a school ever done this? No big name is going to Come here because of this. Should of paid his buy out and moved on. We will never learn from our mistakes
I mean I hate to say it, but how many of these kids really matter if they allowed us to win 3 games. Nothing, I mean absolutely nothing, about the team this year makes me sad to move on from. I don’t care who leaves and we have all walk ons. We better hire a really good coach this time and then figure it out from there. I don’t care who flashed or played decent. Nobody on this team played dominant or consistently turned heads. For every play gray made, he made a head scratcher. Toots looked like a half speed version of the freshman, all of these five star linemen played like pansies.Need these players to stick around in school and at least give the new guy a chance.
Absolutely. It has to happen quick though.. No one wants to sit on the back burner and wait to see if anyone else wants the job and be the fall back plan...Im fine with Herman or Chadwell. I think the Chadwell fit may be worth the added risk with a very high ceiling. With the Def. staff Steele can put together we may have something to build with.
LA’s right about a lot of it, but from what I’ve learned, it was probably headed this way regardless. Too much paper trail, too many in the loop on what we were doing, and WAY too many people with axes to grind regarding Pruitt.
If the NCAA hammers UT, it's because our Chancellor handed them far more than they would have ever found on their own. The NCAA is understaffed, overburdened and lacks the manpower to dig deep and cast a wide net. They're set up to enforce, not investigate, and have a huge backlog that lets a lot of things slide under the radar. But when you serve up your transgressions on a silver platter, with all the evidence organized and triple-checked, the NCAA tends to look a lot closer and make you a higher priority. If you really want to pique their interest, you invite NCAA reps to ZOOM in on meetings where you present evidence that nails you, followed by a presser where leadership emphasizes how serious, shocking and widespread your violations are.
Other schools avoid, delay, divert and deny deny deny, forcing the NCAA to allocate resources they don't have to prove things that take a lot of time, effort and evidence to prove, which the NCAA isn't all that keen to do. All while the school continues to do what they do. See LSU, Auburn, Bama, UGA, etc. etc.
One final observation, Nieds, Probst and Pruitt allegedly had a nickname known by Saban, Kirby, Garner, M Stoops etc. When Pruitt bought JJ, who might not have been as good as billed, my friend heard the line “No honor among the North Alabama Shithouse Rats” from a competing coach. He heard that expression many times after. Gotta love it. North Alabama Shithouse Rats. That’s where we’ve been.
