I think it will be Ingram or Gilbert. Friday is real possibility, no later than Monday. They want a new coach in place by first week of February. I’m hearing they are willing to pay 5.5-8 million per year around 5-6 years for the right guy. They want a sitting HC w power 5 experience. If they get to a certain place then I believe Steele will get the job but it won’t be for lack of trying. I believe they will get their guy if the pay i hear is correct. They can’t afford any embarrassment and they understand that.

If her AD wasn't monitoring those under him and the HC failed to monitor those under him, wasn't she failing to monitor those under her? Or is selective monitoring The Right Way?
Plausible deniability...I know they don't know I know... And that's good enough lol

It’s probably just wishful thinking, but I’m hoping Pruitt’s judgement on other positions was as lousy as it was at QB, and maybe some of our reserves, if given some opportunities, are as good, or maybe even better than some of the starters that are bailing. I’m pulling extra hard for the guys that are sticking by the team at a time when it would be easy to leave.
This all day long. He played players out of position just to try to prove he was right. Lots of good players on the team. They just need real coaches. Be patient.

AV says FU money is coming. Take hope in that for now.
Just a reminder that FU money only guarantees the ceiling of the offer. It will not, nor never, guarantee interested candidates based on a variety of different conditions including administration and administrative support, ncaa penalties, opportunity cost of waiting for a different opening, personal and family opinions, etc. We could offer $40M/5yr as a max to multiple candidates and end up with Steele anyway (but for far less financial obligation than the FU money ponied up).

Hopefully that’s not the case, but having FU money doesn’t guarantee results. Just makes the odds better.

I can see him being allowed to make defensive coaching hires.

I think he will be forced on the next coach as the DC and Plowman is allowing him to fill his side of the ball.

If he starts making offensive hires then.......
Unless you have a guy lined up and he is ok with these hires, (unlikely since the ad isn't in place to hire them) then this is a great way limit options for a job with already limited options.

It's a classic catch 22 situation. I don't like the way this is unfolding at all. I think we end up with Steele as other options fizzle to none.
