Just remember, Steele hasn't even been given a proper position title yet (contractually speaking).

So he's agreed to come in as a "Defensive Assistant" and then was given the title of Interim. But the new AD will be responsible for handling/signing all the related contracts.

I'm not saying Steele won't be on the new HC staff, but depending on who Danny hires he may well say "new coach picks his squad, sorry" and that be the end of that.

This is a good point and goes back to my earlier comment, the admin could have named anyone interim but chose Steele.
