I like the renewed hope.... if it isn’t Kiffin then it is obviously someone better so it’s a win win to be optimistic right now.

That's all fine ....but my point was if We offer Kiffin he will be here...and I stand by that...

I can respect your opinion. And chances are very likely, we'll never know if he was offered anyway, so no point in arguing. Just don't want to see people on here fall into the "Kiffin or bust" mindset.

And the money...mostly don’t forget the money because that’s likely the only thing that has his interest. He sees a school that is in some NCAA trouble willing to pay an AD more than most D1 coaches get paid and sees a cash cow that he hopes is desperate enough to over pay in ridiculous ways. A ton of coaches suddenly get interested under these circumstances. Has less to do with what went down before or who was there than it does an enormous spigot being turned on what is rarely a position schools pump that kinda cash into.

IOW, a lot of coaches are thinking “if they will pay that for an AD what can I take them for?”

I agree, and that's one of the reasons I wanted Pruitt gone. There should be an upward trajectory noticed by year 3 IMO.

Note: I've somewhat defended the football forum folks in the past but don't go over there. They're still talking about 20 year rebuilds and scouring the 1A high school ranks for coaches (slight exaggeration)

I believe that since the emphasis by our administration on running a clean program after the house cleaning, we will not see any coach with previous stains (read Kiffin or Freeze, tho I would like either one), and that White will go with someone we least expect but a proven winner or rebuilder.
