so, unpopular opinion here...first, i think Matt Campbell is a great coach....

but.
isn't possible sometimes guys are just great in the situation they're in and it's not for replication somewhere else? i'm not sold that he could be great here, or really anywhere else really....but he's perfect for Iowa St...and that's ok.....

I find it interesting looking at the way people are easily persuaded by flash over substance. The way people treat Kiffin like he is some type of Saban-level football coach is crazy. I understand the flash involved. There are things to point to that are flashy. There is appeal. But there is no true substance and so many people don't care. They are so easily distracted by flash. Just find it interesting is all. As far as coaches that would come to UT and have high-level sustained success he is most likely not even in the Top 10 of the realistic options. From a matter of substance. Building culture. Leading the program and coaching staff and personnel. Winning games.

I just have a hard time thinking Stoops is possible. The biggest, attainable names after that are Campbell, Fickell, Freeze, Kiffin. Napier seems to think he's in that class, and then there is Chadwell. Who else is even possible? Cristobal maybe. This is going to get very interesting.

For all those who think they "know" who we should hire as HC, and will second-guess our new AD if he does not please them with this hire:

Our administrative leaders have hired an AD who is universally lauded as a top notch big time AD; a top 4 AD in the entire country per a respected publication; a young innovative AD who comes from an outstanding family of athletic administrators/coaches. He deserves the support of the fanbase. So lets give it to him. In spades.
Let him do his job. Support his choice as our HC, without hesitation or equivocation. Don't be a Jimmy Hyams or John Adams clone/mouthpiece. Tune them and those like them OUT. This is our time to rise up, again.
This program needs us all to row the boat in the same direction; against the Tide. Be a Tennessee Volunteer!
Go Big Orange!

I have a feeling that just with us announcing White as AD and everything that is going with it, some of our kids decide to stay or come back out of the portal--- except for probably Crouch, Toot, and Gray... I'm convinced with Toot coming in to talk to compliance and them all jumping at the same time, $omething $hady is going on and either they are jumping because their Fund$ have been cut off, or they know they're on a list and wouldn't be eligible anyway... makes a lot of sense as to how loyal they've been up until and after gump got fired...

So maybe Patterson is feeling enough has changed here now to alleviate the residual butthurt. And maybe thinking it's time for a change....
